An apparatus may include a platen, an electromagnetic interference (EMI)-reducing system including a first EMI-reducing layer, a light source system and a receiver system. The light source system may include a light-emitting component, light source system circuitry and a light guide system and may be configured to emit light through the first EMI-reducing layer to a first platen area via a light pipe between the first EMI-reducing layer and the platen. The light guide system may include a light-directing element for directing light from the first EMI-reducing layer to the light pipe. The receiver system may be configured to detect acoustic waves corresponding to a photoacoustic response of a target object in contact with the first platen area to light emitted by the light source system. The first EMI-reducing layer may reduce a level of EMI emitted by the light source system circuitry that is received by receiver system circuitry.

Methods, systems, and devices for multi-device object tracking and localization are described. A device may transmit a request message associated with a target object to a set of devices within a target area. The request message may include an image of the target object, a feature of the target object, or at least a portion of a trained model associated with the target object. Subsequently, the device may receive response messages from the set of devices based on the request message. The response messages may include a portion of a captured image including the target object, location information of the devices, a pose of the devices, or temporal information of the target object detected within the target area by the devices. In some examples, the device may determine positional information with respect to the target object based on the one or more response messages.

Techniques are provided for responding to congestion-sensitive preemptive data download requests in a V2X network. An example method for downloading data on a mobile device includes determining an estimated time of arrival at a station based at least in part on almanac information, generating a data download request based at least in part on the estimated time of arrival at the station, transmitting the data download request, and receiving one or more data packets from the station based on the data download request.

In one embodiment, a method of providing virtual buttons in a device includes detecting a grip around a perimeter of the device, where the perimeter of the device includes one or more ultrasonic sensors; determining one or more locations of one or more fingers of a user using data collected by the one or more ultrasonic sensors; and providing one or more virtual buttons around the perimeter of the device based on the one or more locations of the one or more fingers of the user.

Providing virtual buttons in a handheld device

An apparatus may include a fingerprint sensor system and a control system. The control system may be configured for receiving fingerprint sensor data from the fingerprint sensor system and for extracting fingerprint data from the fingerprint sensor data. The fingerprint data may correspond to fingerprints of multiple digits of a user's hand. The control system may be configured for providing a progressive enrollment process for the fingerprint data. The progressive enrollment process may involve storing at least some of the fingerprint data and augmenting stored fingerprint data as the user continues to use the apparatus. The progressive enrollment process may involve processing first fingerprint data corresponding to a first digit of the user's hand during a processing time for second fingerprint data corresponding to a second digit of the user's hand. At least a portion of the progressive enrollment process may be performed without user prompts.
