Methods, systems, and apparatuses for predicting a user field-of-view change and determining transmission regions of immersive video (IV) content for an IV device are presented. A field-of-view change of a user device may be predicted. A transmission region in one or more video frames of the IV content may be determined based on the predicted change.

Predictive content delivery for video streaming services

Embodiments of a modular flotation section include a utility trough molded into an upper end of the modular flotation section that extends an entire end-to-end distance of the modular flotation section. The utility trough has an open top end level with a top surface of the modular flotation section, opposing sidewalls that extend downward from the top surface, a closed bottom end, and two opposing open side ends. A depth and width of the utility trough is less than, respectively, a total height and width of the modular flotation section. Electrical cables, water lines, or a combination of the two may be placed within the trough, thereby isolation the cables and lines from the dock frame.

Encapsulated utility float

A system for providing guidance information to a driver of a vehicle. In one implementation, the system includes an image capture device and an object sensor attached to the vehicle. The image capture device acquires an image of the vicinity of the vehicle. The object sensor is configured to detect an object near the vehicle. A processing unit processes the acquired image from the image capture device to produce an output image. The processing of the acquired image is based on information obtained from the object sensor. An image display unit is connected to the processing unit and displays the output image produced by the central processing unit.

System and method for providing guidance information to a driver of a vehicle

Exemplary embodiments comprise a lighted glove with an infra red light source which can be activated by applying a force to a pressure sensor that is in electrical communication with the light source. Exemplary embodiments are useful in night vision applications.

A variable resistance aquatic exercise apparatus which provides a platform for removable fit to each of a user's hands and arms is disclosed. Each platform provides a plurality of one-way valves of two sizes. Each platform further provides a dialable disc which varies with orifice size, from a larger orifice to smaller orifices, or a user may choose to close orifices, thereby providing varied resistance to movement through water. Multiple embodiments of the platform are provided.

Variable resistance aquatic exercise apparatus

A firefighter/hazmat rescue board for transporting injured workers wearing an open circuit rescue firefighter self-contained breathing apparatus (hereinafter, 'SCBA'). The inventive apparatus includes a substantially rectangular plank with an upper deck, a lower surface, an upper/head portion with hand holds, a lower/mid-body portion with a hand hold, a right side, a left side, and an SCBA opening disposed through the plank. The SCBA opening is shaped and sized to be readily and easily disposed around a standard-sized 30-60 minute SCBA air cylinder and valve during a rescue operation. A harness system is provided for strapping the injured worker to the plank.

The present invention is an apparatus for curing an article that is passing through the apparatus, wherein the article is being cured by ultraviolet radiation curing. The present invention most commonly applies to the field of fiber optics, and the manufacture of optical fibers and fiber optic cables or ribbons. The present invention comprises a hollow tubular UV light emitting device (bulb) and a UV transparent tube where the bulb is disposed around the tube creating a space between the tube and the bulb. The article to be cured passes through the center of the tube along with an inert gas, where the inert gas is either cooled or heated depending on the application of the apparatus. A UV transparent cooling medium is passed through the space between the tube and the bulb to provide cooling for the apparatus, preventing heat damage from the bulb. Shielding coatings are employed on either the surface of the tube or the inner surface of the bulb to prevent harmful and unwanted radiation from the bulb from reaching the article to be cured. Further, a dichroic reflector is employed outside of the bulb to reflect UV radiation back into the bulb while allowing other radiation emitted by the bulb to escape, while the exterior of the bulb is being cooled by an additional cooling medium passing over the exterior of the bulb. The present invention greatly improves temperature control and operational efficiency of the UV curing process over prior art devices.

Ultraviolet curing system and bulb

A visibly distinguishable colored optical fiber ribbon is provided having optical fibers with a colored secondary coating and an ink coating applied to the secondary coating. The optical fiber ribbons are also provided with a plurality of optical fibers therein, wherein each optical fiber has a uniquely colored secondary coating covered by an ink coating having a same color over a majority of the colored optical fibers. Since the optical fibers are distinguishable by color coding, the ribbon coatings do not require print identifiers thereon. As a result, the ribbons are easily identified in the dark enclosures where fiber optic cables are typically deployed.

The present invention is an improved method and apparatus for peeling matrix material from a fiber optic ribbon structure. The present invention uses a peel tool which has a base portion and a lever portion, where the two portions are connected to each other such that they pivot with respect to each other. Both portions are wide enough to allow a fiber optic ribbon to be adhered to opposing surfaces of the lever and base portions when the portions are closed. The ribbon is secured to the opposing surfaces with an adhesive, such that when the lever portion is pivoted away from the base portion an even peel force is distributed across the width of the ribbon matrix, causing an even portion of the ribbon matrix material to be removed, thus exposing the individual fibers for splicing, repair etc. without requiring multiple peel operations.

Optical fiber ribbon peel tool

An optical fiber ribbon product that includes at least two sub-unit ribbons each having a plurality of optical fibers encapsulated in a matrix material. The sub-units are arranged adjacent each other and include identifying stripes respectively extending longitudinally along the exterior of the matrix materials. The stripe on the first sub-unit has a visual appearance that is different from the stripe on the second sub-unit to allow the sub-units to be distinguished from each other. A bonding material substantially encapsulates the first and second sub-units. In one embodiment, the bonding material is transparent and fully encapsulates the stripes. In another embodiments, the stripes made of a film and are not encapsulated by the bonding material so that they can be peeled to access the optical fibers and/or sub-unit ribbons.

Identification scheme for splittable ribbon products

An optical fiber ribbon in which the location of a particular fiber contained in the ribbon can be easily identified in the field. The optical fiber ribbon includes a plurality of optical fibers arranged in parallel with and adjacent one another, and a ribbon matrix bonded to the outer coatings and encasing the plurality of optical fibers, wherein the ribbon matrix includes indicia on an outside thereof for directionally identifying a particular one of the optical fibers. According to a first aspect of the invention, the indicia includes triangle, with an apex of the triangle pointing in the direction of the particular fiber. Alternatively, according to a second aspect of the invention, the indicia includes an arrow pointing in the direction of the particular fiber. The indicia is preferably repeated at regular intervals along the length of the ribbon to allow the particular fiber to be identified along the entire length of the ribbon. In the case of an optical fiber ribbon product which includes a plurality of optical fiber ribbons, the indicia can also be used to distinguish between ribbons. For example, in the event the indicia is a triangle, a first optical fiber ribbon can be identified by a single triangle repeated at regular intervals along the length of the ribbon and a second optical fiber ribbon can be identified by a pair of triangles repeated along the length of the ribbon. Alternatively, the ribbons can be identified with a different indicia for distinguishing between the ribbons.
