The present invention provides an assembly having a collapsible wheelchair and an anti-rollback assembly to brake rotational movement of the wheelchair when a user is unseated, while simultaneously maintaining the ability of the wheelchair to collapse into a storage configuration. The anti-rollback assembly may include a brake bar pivotable between a lock state and an unlock state, a biasing member engaging the brake bar to exert a biasing force to move the brake bar into the lock state, and an actuator configured to engage a seat surface of the wheelchair to move the brake bar into the unlock state when the individual occupies the seat surface.

A system for signaling an overload of a foam mattress, including a foam mattress having a plurality of conductive inserts located near a bottom surface and a contact pad positioned below the bottom surface of the mattress. The system may generate an overload alarm signal as a function of receiving one or more signal outputs from the sensor over a period of time. The system may also generate an overload alarm signal as a function of receiving a plurality of individual signal outputs from a plurality of one or more conductive inserts located within a predetermined area of the sensor.

The present invention provides an assembly having a wheelchair and a wheelchair rigging receptacle. The wheelchair may include an appendage support rigging that is releasably affixed to the frame and configured to support a user's appendage, e.g. foot, when in use. The receptacle may comprise two opposing flexible side walls, a rear wall extending between the side walls, and a bottom extending between a lower edge of the walls to define an interior cavity between an inner surface of the wall and the base that has a width approximately equal to a width of the appendage support rigging. The receptacle also includes at least one mounting device to affix the receptacle to the anti-tip bar of the wheelchair at the rear of the seating surface.

The present invention provides an assembly having a wheelchair and a lift assembly to urge the seat surface upward with respect to the frame from a lowered position when supporting the seated individual during use to an elevated position with respect to the frame assisting the individual during ingress or egress to or from the wheelchair. The lift assembly may include a mechanical linkage and an actuator. The assembly also provides at least one brake configured to block rotation of the wheelchair wheel with respect to the wheelchair frame in a locked state and disengaging with the wheels to allow rotation of the wheel with respect to the frame in an unlocked state. The assembly also provides a brake linkage communicating between the lift assembly and the brake to move the brake into the lock state when the seat surface moved to the elevated position.

An oil spill skimmer for removing heavy hydrocarbons from bodies of water, having a plurality of oleophilic oil separation devices, a housing and frame structure that is suitably supported above a body of water, an adjustable wave damper supported by the housing at a front of the skimmer, an at least one flow inducer supported by the housing at a rear of the skimmer, and ballast-adjustable tanks. The at least one flow inducer for inducing inflow such that water is pulled at the front of the skimmer and directed out a bottom of the skimmer while collecting the spillage in a collection area. The ballast can be moved in and out of the tanks to increase or decrease buoyancy and influence the wave riding or wave heave of the skimmer.
