A harness adjustment device for adjusting a length of webbing includes a toothed rotational member including a spool structured to receive the webbing and an end portion including teeth disposed at an end of the spool, the toothed rotational member being structured to rotate to draw in or let out the webbing, and an engagement mechanism having an engagement portion. The engagement portion is structured to move between a first position in which the engagement portion abuts against the toothed rotational member between at least two of the teeth and prevents rotation of the toothed rotational member, and a second position in which the engagement portion is separated from the toothed rotational member and allows rotation of the toothed rotational member.

A post system for use in fall protection includes a connector to connect to a structure and a support in operative connection with a lifeline to maintain the lifeline at a first height above the structure. When a first threshold force is experienced on the lifeline, the support is operable to lower the lifeline to a second height which is lower than the first height. The ratio of a change in effective length of the lifeline resulting from the lowering of the lifeline to a change in height resulting from lowering of the lifeline (or the &#x394;L/&#x394;H ratio) is less than 1. The ratio of the change in effective length of the lifeline resulting from the lowering of the lifeline to the change in height resulting from lowering of the lifeline may also be less than 0.5 or less than 0.4.

An energy absorber includes a monolithic length of ductile material comprising a first end and a second end. The material is formed to include at least a first longitudinally extending section that extends continuously between the ends, a first discontinuous section extending longitudinally from the first end toward the second end and at least a second discontinuous section extending longitudinally from the second end toward the first end. The first longitudinally extending section is deformed over at least a portion thereof out of a plane running through both ends. The first discontinuous section and the second discontinuous section are connected such that tensile force of a threshold magnitude is required between the ends to disconnect the first discontinuous section from the second discontinuous section, letting the first longitudinally extending section free to deform under tensile force and extend in longitudinal direction.

A cover for an energy absorber for use in a horizontal lifeline system includes four cover pieces structured to interlock together to form the cover. Each cover piece includes an interlocking section structured to slide into the interlocking section of another one of the cover pieces, a number of tabs, and a number of tab receivers. The number of tabs are structured to snap together with the tab receivers of another one of the cover pieces and the number of tab receivers are structured to snap together with the tabs of another one of the cover pieces.

A horizontal lifeline system includes a first termination arrangement structured to attach to a first anchor point, a second termination arrangement structured to attach to a second anchor point, a horizontal lifeline cable coupled to the first termination arrangement, a rope length adjuster attached to the horizontal lifeline cable and having a housing through which the horizontal lifeline cable can be pulled to adjust the length of the horizontal lifeline system and apply tension to the horizontal lifeline cable, and a tension limiting ratchet coupled between the second termination arrangement and the rope length adjuster and being structured to be ratcheted to increase tension applied to the horizontal lifeline cable and to provide an indication and deter further ratcheting when the tension applied to the horizontal lifeline cable reaches a predetermined tension limit.

A load indicator includes a first connector, a second connector arranged such that pulling the first connector and the second connector in opposite directions applies tension across the load indicator, a fastener structured to attach the first connector to the second connector, a first spring structured to apply bias to the fastener to pull the first and second connectors together, and a moveable member disposed between the first and second connectors and around the fastener. When the tension across the load indicator is at or above a predetermined tension level, the first spring compresses allowing the moveable member to spin freely about the fastener. When the tension across the load indicator is below the predetermined tension level, the first spring pulls the first and second connectors together such that the moveable member cannot spin freely about the fastener.

Apparatus and associated methods relate to a safety interface device that securely attaches to a length of webbing, while simultaneously providing a plurality of non-intersecting apertures to couple to a corresponding plurality of safety devices. In some embodiments, the safety interface device may be retrofitted to a closed webbing on a pre-fabricated safety harness. In some exemplary embodiments, the element may be opened and closed by providing two pivotably coupled plates, permitting the webbing to be installed when the plates are opened, and secured when the plates are closed. Various embodiments, for example, provide a securing pin which automatically locks the device to the webbing when the device is closed around the webbing. In some embodiments, the device will be again locked in a secondary fashion whenever a safety device is attached to the interface plate. Thus, at least two distinct actions may be required to open the device.

The connector (&#x2033;) further includes a first extending contact member (&#x2033;) including a first cooperating section (&#x2033;) and a first contact surface (&#x2033;) on an end thereof. The first cooperating section (&#x2033;) is movably positioned between and abutted by the abutment member (&#x2033;) and the first extending abutment member (&#x2033;) so that the first contact surface (&#x2033;) of the first extending contact member (&#x2033;) can be moved between an open position and a closed position as the distance between the surface (&#x2033;) opposing the interface surface (&#x2033;) and the abutment member (&#x2033;) is adjusted via the first threaded member (&#x2033;). The connector (&#x2033;) also includes a second extending contact member (&#x2033;) including a second cooperating section (&#x2033;) and a second contact surface (&#x2033;) on an end thereof. The second cooperating section (&#x2033;) is movably positioned between and abutted by the abutment member (&#x2033;) and the second extending abutment member (&#x2033;) so that the second contact surface (&#x2033;) of the second extending contact member (&#x2033;) can be moved between an open position and a closed position as the distance between the surface (&#x2033;) opposing the interface surface (&#x2033;) and the abutment member (&#x2033;) is adjusted via the first threaded member (&#x2033;).
