An apparatus includes a developer and an actuator moveable in response to an input stimulus during an image forming operation of an image forming device. The apparatus includes a clutch that is actuatable, during the image forming operation, by the actuator between an engaged position in which the clutch is engaged with a photoreceptor and a disengaged position in which the clutch is disengaged from the photoreceptor. The clutch when in the engaged position transfers a force of a photoreceptor drive assembly to the photoreceptor for moving the photoreceptor, and the clutch when in the disengaged position isolates the photoreceptor drive assembly from the photoreceptor.

The housing being coupled to the body and including a movable mass to move in the housing when a shaking force is applied to the print material container. The detecting member to detect the shaking force and to signal a feedback of the shaking force relative to a shaking force threshold.

An apparatus includes a developer and a photoreceptor, where the developer is to transfer a toner to the photoreceptor. The apparatus includes a housing that is moveable in an image forming device, and an actuator assembly engaged with the housing. The actuator assembly is actuatable between different states in response to control by the image forming device during an image forming operation of the image forming device, where a first state of the different states corresponds to the housing being at a first position that disrupts a transfer of the toner to a transfer member of the image forming device during the image forming operation, and a second state of the different states corresponds to the housing being at a second position that allows the transfer of the toner to the transfer member.

An apparatus includes a developer to receive a toner, and an actuator moveable between different positions. An electrical switch is responsive to an input stimulus from the actuator to control a voltage that enables or disrupts a transfer of the toner from the developer to a photoreceptor, where the electrical switch when in a first state sets the voltage at a first level to enable the transfer of the toner from the developer to the photoreceptor, and the electrical switch when in a second state sets the voltage at a second level to disrupt the transfer of the toner from the developer to the photoreceptor.

An apparatus includes a developer and a moveable support that is moveable in response to actuation by an image forming device. The apparatus further includes a toner transfer modulator on the moveable support, the toner transfer modulator moveable with the moveable support between different positions to differently affect transfer of a toner to a photoreceptor or a transfer member, where the moveable support is to move the toner transfer modulator to a first position to disrupt the transfer of the toner to the photoreceptor or the transfer member during an image forming operation of the image forming device.

An example of a container is disclosed. The example disclosed herein comprises an impermeable container wall, a container releasing valve, and a gas vessel. The impermeable container wall defines the boundaries of an inner volume of the container. The container releasing valve is installed in the container wall to release gas from the inner volume of the container to the outside of the container. The gas vessel is installed in the inner volume of the container. The gas vessel comprises a gas vessel wall, a pressurized vessel gas, and a gas vessel releasing system. The gas vessel wall defines the boundaries of an inner volume of the gas vessel, wherein the gas vessel wall is impermeable and allows for a pressure difference between the inner volume of the gas vessel and an outer volume of the gas vessel. A pressurized vessel gas is enclosed within the inner volume of the gas vessel. And a gas releasing system is to release a certain quantity of the vessel gas to the inner volume of the gas container.

A device is to supply printing material to a printing material container in a printing apparatus. The device includes a first container to contain printing material, a first piston movable in the first container to exert first pressure to discharge the printing material contained in the first container from the first container, a second container having an opening to the first container, and a second piston movable in the second container to exert second pressure higher than the first pressure to form a pressure gradient based on the first pressure and the second pressure through the opening. The pressure gradient is to disperse the printing material in the first container.

Device to supply printing material

A device to supply printing material to a printing material container of a printing apparatus includes a container including a plunger and to contain the printing material, a portal couplable to a refill port to the printing material container. The portal includes a discharge port through which the printing material is transferrable from the container, and a connector to receive power to move the plunger, to cause a transfer of the printing material contained in the container to the printing material container through the discharge port.

An image forming apparatus includes a development cartridge having a developing roller. The developing roller includes a roller body, and a shaft to pass through a central axis of the roller body. A coupling structure is disposed at an end part of the shaft, is movable from a first position to a second position, and includes a first coupling piece and a second coupling piece. Positions of the first coupling piece and the second coupling piece are maintained with respect to one another by a static frictional force between surfaces of the first coupling piece and the second coupling piece to hold the coupling structure in the first position. When a predetermined force overcomes the static frictional force, the first coupling piece and the second coupling piece disengage from one another to allow the coupling structure to move from the first position to the second position.

A cartridge couplable to a printing apparatus may include a driver coupler movable in a first direction toward an engaging position to engage with a power driver of the printing apparatus to drive the cartridge and a power transfer member including a power transfer part to transfer power moving the driver coupler in the first direction toward the engaging position, as the power transfer part moves in a second direction different from the first direction.

A development system for an image forming apparatus includes a photosensitive drum having a drive plate to receive a driving force to rotate the photosensitive drum. The drive plate is provided on an end of the photosensitive drum. The development system also includes a developing roller having a clutch mechanism to dampen a force generated when the clutch mechanism engages the drive plate of the photosensitive drum. The clutch mechanism is provided on an end of the photosensitive drum.

In some examples, a print material apparatus includes a housing having an opening and an inner housing space, and a module removably attached to the housing to cover the opening, the module providing an inner module space that together with the inner housing space define a volume containing a print material of the print material apparatus. The housing is attachable to different modules that provide respective inner module spaces of different sizes for defining different print material containment capacities of the print material apparatus.

A print material container comprising a body, a transfer mechanism, an inner connector, and an outer connecter. The transfer mechanism is to move print material in or out of the body. The inner connecter is on a connecting side of the body, and is to couple to a first location of an image forming apparatus to provide print material to the image forming apparatus. The outer connecter is on the connecting side of the body, and is to couple to a second location of the image forming apparatus to collect or receive unutilized print material transferred or received from the image forming apparatus.

In one example, a detachable adapter to adapt a drive shaft on a printer to a drive mechanism on a toner cartridge and to transmit rotation of the drive shaft to the drive mechanism. The adapter includes a cylindrical part having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, the first end configured to detachably receive and engage an end of the drive shaft so that the part will rotate with the drive shaft when the part is attached to the drive shaft, and a driver mounted to or integral with the second end and configured to drivingly connect the part to the drive mechanism on the toner cartridge when the part is attached to the drive shaft and the toner cartridge is installed in the printer.

The organic photoconductor may be included in a development cartridge for an image forming apparatus.
