Techniques for live location sharing are described. A first mobile device and a second mobile device can communicate with one another using an IM program. The first mobile device can receive a user input to share a location of the first mobile device in the IM program. Sharing the location can include causing the second mobile device to display a location of the first mobile device in an IM program user interface on the second mobile device. Duration of sharing the location can be user-configurable. The second mobile device may or may not share a location of the second device for display in the IM program executing on the first mobile device.

Live location sharing

At an electronic device with a touch-sensitive display, display a message transcript, where the message transcript includes at least one message from at least a first user. Determine, based at least in-part on the at least one message, a plurality of suggested one or more characters. Display, on the touch-sensitive display, the plurality of suggested one or more characters. Detect an input on the touch-sensitive display. Determine whether the input represents user selection of one of the plurality of suggested one or more characters. Display the selected one of the plurality of suggested one or more characters in the message transcript. Send the selected one or more characters to the first user.

Canned answers in messages

An electronic device, while displaying messaging user interface that includes a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user, a plurality of electronic stickers, and a message-input area, detects a drag gesture that starts while a focus selector is at a first location in the messaging user interface that corresponds to an electronic sticker in the plurality of electronic stickers, and in response, moves the electronic sticker in the first direction in accordance with movement of the drag gesture. Upon termination of the drag gesture while the focus selector is at a second location in the messaging user interface, if the second location is within the conversation transcript, the electronic device places the electronic sticker in the conversation transcript at a location based on the second location, and otherwise ceases to display the electronic sticker.

Devices, methods, and graphical user interfaces for initiating a payment action in a messaging session

During a communication session facilitated by a first communication service between a first device and a second device, a processor may receive a request to execute a feature not supported by the first communication service. The processor may also identify a second communication service that does support the feature. Further, the processor may then cause the communication session to transition from the first communication service to the second communication service.

Method and apparatus for initiating and managing chat sessions

An electronic device displays a messaging user interface of a message application, including a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user, and a first message region that includes a current version of a first message in the messaging session. The conversation transcript includes an indication that the current version of the first message is a revised version of the first message in the conversation transcript. In response to detecting an input that corresponds to a request to see versions of the first message, the electronic device displays a versions user interface that includes the current version of the first message and one or more prior versions of the first message.

While displaying the menu, in response to detecting a second user input corresponding to the activatable menu item for initiating a payment action with the first other user, a user interface configured to initiate sending of payment to, and/or requesting payment from, the first other user is displayed.

In response to a first input corresponding to a first respective message in the conversation transcript, displaying an indication that the first respective message has been selected. In response to one or more second inputs, including message composition inputs, displaying in a second message region in the conversation transcript a second message corresponding to the message composition inputs, and displaying a grouping indicia that connects the first respective message region with the second message region.

An electronic device displays a messaging interface. The messaging user interface includes a search affordance and a conversation between a user of the device and another user. While displaying the messaging interface, the device detects activation of the search affordance. In response, the device ceases displaying the messaging interface and displays a search interface. The search user interface includes a search field and categorized content items. The categorized content items include a content item stored on the device and a content item from the Internet. While displaying the search interface, the device detects selection of a first item in the categorized content items; and, afterwards, displays the first item in the conversation. The device transmits the first item to the device that corresponds to the other user in the messaging session. An electronic device includes a touch-sensitive surface, a display, and a camera sensor. The device displays a message region for displaying a message conversation and receives a request to add media to the message conversation. Responsive to receiving the request, the device displays a media selection interface concurrently with at least a portion of the message conversation. The media selection interface includes a plurality of affordances for selecting media for addition to the message conversation, the plurality of affordances includes a live preview affordance, at least a subset of the plurality of affordances includes thumbnail representations of media available for adding to the message conversation, and the live preview affordance is associated with a live camera preview. Responsive to detecting selection of the live preview affordance, the device captures a new image based on the live camera preview and selects the new image for addition to the message conversation.

An electronic device displays a messaging user interface on a display, the messaging user interface including a conversation transcript of a messaging session between a user of the electronic device and at least one other user, a keyboard, a message-input area, and a digital image affordance. While displaying the messaging user interface, the device detects an input that activates the digital image affordance. In response, the device replaces display of the keyboard with display of a plurality of digital images, the plurality of digital images including one or more digital images stored in memory and a live preview image from a digital camera. The device detects an input that selects the live image displayed within the plurality of digital images. In response, the device captures a digital image with the digital camera, while maintaining display of the conversation transcript.
