One embodiment provides a method, the method including: receiving, at a device validation system and utilizing a wireless communication mechanism, current state information identifying a current configuration of a device; obtaining, using the device validation system and from a data store including trusted state information for a plurality of devices, trusted state information for the device that identifies a trusted configuration of the device; identifying, using the device validation system, a modification state of the device by comparing the current state information to the trusted state information of the device; and providing, at an output component of the device validation system, a notification indicating whether the device has been modified from the trusted state information based upon the identified modification state of the device. A system for preventing a voice activated response by a digital personal is provided. The system includes a digital personal assistant that has a memory storing program instructions. The system also includes one or more processors that, when executing the program instructions, are configured to identify an audible instruction based on a determined sound, and receive a block signal accompanying the determined sound. The one or more processors are also configured to prevent a response to the determined sound based on the block signal.

A computer implemented method of preparing an electronic device for transport to a destination includes activating a secure transport function for an electronic device and receiving a selection of at least two transport mode options. The transport mode options may include placing the electronic device in a shipping mode to disconnect a device battery until the device is reconnected to a power adapter, performing an encryption on selected data stored on the device, capturing a connection fingerprint of gateways upon power on during transport, and logging power on hours during transport. The method includes applying, via the secure transport mode function, the selected transport mode operations prior to transport.

Apparatuses, methods, systems, and program products are disclosed to determine when a portable electronic device is moved within an enclosed space. A processor and memory may control a sensor may store code executable by the processor to measure a parameter at an inlet of the computing device. The parameter may include an airflow rate, an air temperature at the inlet, and/or a current supply to a fan of the computing device. The processor may execute code to determine when the parameter at the inlet reaches a threshold. When the processor determines that the measured parameter has reached the threshold, a signal from the sensor to the processor and/or from the processor to an operator may be sent, indicating that the threshold has been reached.

System and method to sense computing device parameters within an enclosed space

A device includes a first camera and a second camera respectively supported by a first and a second assemblies coupled via a hinge. The first and the second cameras are configured to respectively capture a first image and a second image that include a common reference object. A controller is coupled to the first and the second cameras, and configured to change an operating mode of the device in response to a comparison between the first and the second images. Additional cameras may be used in further embodiments and may be mounted onto the front and back surfaces of the first and the second assemblies.

A shutter system includes an electronic device having a camera with a lens. A shutter is supported by the electronic device to block light transmission through the lens in a first state and permit light transmission in a second state. The shutter includes a shutter body containing electrically charged light blocking particles in suspension, a first pair of electrodes positioned to move the electrically charged light blocking particles to achieve the first state in response to a first voltage being applied to the first pair of electrodes, and a second pair of electrodes positioned to move the electrically charged light blocking particles to achieve the second state in response to a second voltage being applied to the second pair of electrodes.

In one aspect, a first device may include at least one processor and storage accessible to the at least one processor. The storage may include instructions executable by the at least one processor to identify a context associated with the first device and identify a first group of applications associated with the context. One embodiment provides a method, including: detecting an area of a display device of an information handling device of a user, designated as a share window; identifying, when the share window is in an active share state, a position of a first window on the display device with respect to the share window; and sharing, based upon the position of the first window on the display being within at least a portion of the share window, content data contained within the first window to a display device of at least one other user in communication with the information handling device of the user.
