Systems and methods of the present disclosure relate to protecting a control line as it passes through a junction in a downhole environment. An ETJ deployment tool (ETJDT) comprises a tool body comprising a central bore; at least one first component and at least one second component, each component operable to extend and retract laterally from the tool body, wherein the at least one second component is disposed at an axial distance from the at least one first component along the tool body; a member disposed within the central bore and operable to move forward upon receiving fluid; and a spring disposed axially between a portion of the member and the at least one second component.

A well system incorporates electrically conductive mesh providing robust, reliable electrical communication pathways along portions of tubular equipment. An example system comprises a tubular string disposed in a wellbore, such as a multilateral wellbore. The tubular string defines an internal fluid flow path for conveying fluids to or from a surface of a wellsite. The tubular string also includes a plurality of well components with tubular component bodies arranged along the tubular string. An electrical network along the tubular string interconnects the well components. The electrical network comprising a transmission path defined at least in part by a mesh sleeve disposed along the tubular string around the internal fluid flow path.

Systems, methods, and apparatus are disclosed allowing relative movement between downhole tools while remaining in electrical communication. In one example, a first tool comprising a first connector body is configured for connecting to a second connector body of a second tool. A sliding connector housing has an electrical strip axially arranged along the connector housing, wherein the first or second connector body is moveably secured to the connector housing in sliding electrical contact with the electrical strip. The first and second connector bodies are releasably connectable to each other, thereby allowing relative movement between the first and second tools via the connector housing while maintaining electrical and fluid communication between the first and second tools.

Provided is a completion string and a multilateral well system. The completion string, in one aspect, includes a first tubing string, the first tubing string defining a first fluid path operable to receive a first fluid obtained from a first wellbore. The completion string, in accordance with this aspect, further includes a second tubing string positioned about the first tubing string, the first tubing string and the second tubing string creating an inner annulus that defines a second fluid path operable to receive a second fluid obtained from a second lateral wellbore. The completion string, in accordance with this aspect, further includes a third tubing string positioned about the second tubing string, the second tubing string and the third tubing string defining an outer annulus that defines a third fluid path operable to receive a third fluid obtained from a third lateral wellbore.

A retractable transition joint (RTJ) comprises at least two members. A first member is operable to retract into a second member. A tubular extends through the first and second members. The tubular comprises a distal end that is removably attached to a distal end of the second member. The first and second members are operable to receive the control line.
