A sun visor assembly is provided. The sun visor assembly includes a support, a visor body carried on the support and a mirror carried on the visor body. The visor body pivots about a first axis in a first plane and the mirror pivots about a second axis in a second plane where the first axis is substantially perpendicular to the second axis. Thus the mirror is effectively provided with two degrees of freedom allowing it to be more conveniently, efficiently and effectively adjusted.

A vehicle overhead console is provided which includes a conversation mirror assembly having a housing defining a storage space for storing a conversation mirror. The conversation mirror may travel between a stowed and a use position. An attachment system for mounting a trim component to a vehicle body panel having an aperture includes a self-locating fastener affixed to the trim component. The fastener has a domed head that terminates at a shoulder and includes a plurality of legs separated by a gap and configured to resiliently deflect inward. The domed head is configured to provide for location of the trim component relative to the body panel during installation, and the shoulder is configured to engage the aperture upon installation.

A check assembly for a visor assembly of a vehicle is coupled with a headliner of a vehicle roof near a center portion of the vehicle, away from the vehicle door or windows. A clip on the check assembly is adapted to secure small lightweight items and deter such items from being exposed to weather or wind conditions near vehicle door windows, a vehicle sunroof, or an exposed top. The visor portion may engage a clasp on the check assembly and operate between deployed and non-deployed positions, whereby the clip of the check assembly may be concealed in the non-deployed position. According to one embodiment, the check assembly includes a resilient clip protruding rearward from a body portion thereof over a depressed area on the headliner for holding a lightweight item therebetween.

A vehicle headliner attachment system for mounting a headliner to a non-magnetic roof structure includes a headliner having an interior and an exterior surface, a ferromagnetic plate attached to the exterior surface of the headliner, and a magnetic clip assembly affixed to the non-magnetic roof structure. The ferromagnetic plate and magnetic clip assembly enable magnetic attachment of the headliner to the non-magnetic roof structure.

A check assembly portion of a visor assembly for a vehicle is generally fixedly coupled with the headliner of the vehicle roof near a center portion of the vehicle, away from the vehicle door or windows. Adapting a clip to a check assembly portion of a visor assembly to secure small lightweight items will deter such items from being exposed to weather or wind conditions near a vehicle door, a vehicle sunroof, or an exposed top, which a visor portion of a visor assembly typically becomes closer to such locations. The visor portion may also be operable between a deployed and a non-deployed position, wherein the clip on the check assembly may be concealed in the non-deployed position.

A movable grab handle assembly attached to the interior surface of the vehicle such as the vehicle pillar or on or adjacent to the vehicle headliner is disclosed. The movable grab handle assembly includes a slot formed on a surface of the interior. The slot includes a base having an adjuster plate. A grab handle is slidably mounted in the slot. The grab handle includes a user-operated release, such as a push button, that is operatively engaged with an adjuster plate release mechanism in the form of a pin. By operation of the push button the pin is movable between an adjuster plate engaging position and an adjuster plate disengaging position. Through use of the push button the grab handle is released to move any position in a direction toward the top of the pillar and a direction toward the bottom of the pillar.

A vehicle trim and microphone assembly includes a headliner having a substrate, a foam layer, and a surface cover covering the substrate and foam layer. The substrate has a hole that is covered by the surface cover. A bracket is secured to the substrate and a microphone installed in the bracket so that acoustic sound waves pass through the surface cover within the hole to be detected by the microphone.

A trim cover () fabricated of synthetic material that has a temperature-sensitive fragmentation characteristic fractures as a passenger restraint is deployed through a wall of the trim cover. A laminated backing () disposed on a back face of the trim cover wall contains fragments of the wall resulting from its fracturing by the deploying restraint. The laminated backing has a stretchable foam layer () having a front face adhered to the back of the wall and a non-tearable layer () that has a front face adhered in covering relation to a back face of the stretchable foam layer and that does not tear as a result of the fracturing of the wall by the deploying restraint.
