A propellant composition for an aerosol-type container having a dispensing valve, said composition consisting essentially of a gas adsorbed by an adsorbent substrate at superatmospheric pressure in sufficient quantity such that upon actuation of the dispensing valve, said substrate will desorb a portion of the adsorbed gas to permit discharge of the gas portion from the container at a pressure greater than atmospheric, wherein said gas does not contain any halogen atoms in its molecular structure. The composition is particularly suitable for use in an aerosol hydraulic device for use in clearing waste stoppages in a conduit.

Gas-adsorbent propellant system

An aqueous composition for hard surface cleaning containing, by weight thereof, about 30% of an alkanolamine and about 0.8% of a water insolubilized polysaccharide having both hydroxyl and carboxyl groups, the ratio range of the free acid form to the salt form of the carboxyl groups being about 0.07/1 to 3/1. Preferably, the alkanolamine is monoethanolamine and the polysaccharide is a carboxyalkyl cellulose ether, such as a water insolubilized form of sodium carboxymethylcellulose. Preferably, the composition also contains about 0.5% of a fluorochemical and/or organo silicone type surfactant.

Hard surface cleaning compositions

This invention relates to drain cleaning compositions characterized by a pelletized form. Each pellet formed comprises aluminum; potassium or sodium nitrate; a binding material having a melting point of from about 37.degree. C. to about 67.degree. C. selected from the group consisting of polymers of polyethylene glycol, having a molecular weight of from about 3000 to about 20,000; polymers of ethylene oxide, having a molecular weight of from about 400,000 to about 2,000,000; aliphatic oxyethylated straight chain fatty alcohols having a molecular weight of about 260 to about 265 and containing about 80%, by weight, ethylene oxide; fatty acids having a carbon chain length of from about 10 to about 18 carbon atoms; alkali metal salts of gluconic acid; and mixtures thereof; at least about 1%, by weight, of an alkali metal hydroxide; and a sufficient amount of an additional compatible alkaline ingredient, whereby the total alkaline concentration present, expressed as sodium oxide, is at least about 11%, by weight.

Drain cleaning composition

Drain cleaning compositions, especially effective in dissolving soap curd, are provided which comprise in aqueous solution an ammonium, alkylamine, hydroxy-alkylamine, or mixtures thereof, salt of nitrilotriacetic acid, N-2-hydroxyethylimino diacetic acid, an alkylene polyamine polycarboxylic acid, or mixtures thereof, and an ammonium, alkylamine, hydroxy-alkylamine, or mixtures thereof, salt of one or more anionic surfactants, wherein the alkylamine and hydroxy-alkylamine have a chain length of from 1 to 5 carbon atoms, the composition is substantially free of alkali metal ions, and the alkylene polyamine polycarboxylic acid has the formula

Drain cleaning compositions, especially effective in dissolving soap curd, are provided which comprise in aqueous solution a potassium salt of nitrilotriacetic acid, N-2-hydroxyethylimino diacetic acid, an alkylene polyamine polycarboxylic acid, or mixtures thereof, and potassium hydroxide, wherein the compositions are substantially free of other alkali metal ions and the alkylene polyamine polycarboxylic acid has the formula
