An example system includes a computing system having computer memory storing instructions that are executable and one or more processing devices for executing the instructions to perform operations that include receiving data from a user device that identifies goods, and generating information representing the goods based on the data. Bins are configured to hold the good represented by the information. The bins are climate-controllable to accommodate the goods. An autonomous vehicle is configured to transport the bins. The autonomous vehicle is configured to navigate from a loading station where at least some of the goods are received in the bins to a pick-up station where the goods are released from the bins.

Autonomous vehicle delivery system

An example autonomous vehicle includes a body configured for movement along a surface and an end-effector to hold a first element having first and second features that mate to complementary third and fourth features on a second element. At least one of the end-effector or the body is controllable to move in at least four degrees of freedom. The autonomous device includes one or more sensors to detect the second element and to obtain information for locating the third and fourth features of the second element or other compatible device. The autonomous device also includes a control system to control at least one of the end-effector or the body to move in the at least four degrees of freedom to stack the first element on top of the second element.

Robot for stacking elements

A collaborative logistic facility management system for a logistic facility includes multiple robot autonomous guided vehicles and a system controller. The vehicles transport logistics goods or pallets between truck portals and storage locations and are configured for autonomous guidance travel, in autonomous mode and include a collaborating operator input for collaborative autonomous guided vehicle navigation and guidance. The system controller commands each vehicle to transfer the logistic goods or pallets between the truck portals and the storage locations, identifies a predetermined truck portal of a corresponding truck to be loaded or to be unloaded, and generates a collaborative zone. The controller generates a queue of robot autonomous guided vehicles on a side of the collaborative zone and commands the multiple robot autonomous guided vehicles disposed to load or unload the corresponding truck to move in autonomous mode into the queue.

Collaborative automation logistics facility

A mobile automated guided vehicle pallet stacker and destacker system including an automated guided vehicle having a pallet pick that moves to pick a pallet and stably hold the picked pallet on the pick. A sensor is connected to the vehicle and configured to detect a predetermined characteristic of at least one pallet located in a stack of one or more pallets. A sensing element of the sensor is mounted to the vehicle so as to define a predetermined relation between the sensing element and a pallet pick interface. Actuation of the pick effects scanning of the stack and detection, with the sensing element, of the predetermined characteristic. A controller determines from the predetermined characteristic the at least one pallet is in a topmost pallet position of the stack, and positions the pallet pick interface of the pick to interface the stack based on the determined topmost pallet position.

Mobile automated guided vehicle pallet stacker and destacker system and method therefor

A configurable modular robotic autonomous guided vehicle having an engine module and multiple different ones of selectably interchangeable logistic or material handling accessory modules. The engine module has motors, sensors and a control system integrated with each other for autonomous navigation freely throughout a travel area forming a logistic space. A module interface is located at one end of the engine module for modular coupling of the engine module with a handling accessory module of the vehicle. Each of the handling accessory modules has a different predetermined logistic or material handling characteristic that on integral coupling with the engine module define a different logistic or material handling autonomous guided vehicle type. Selectable coupling of the handling accessory module with the engine module configures the vehicle so as to change the vehicle type from a first vehicle type to a second vehicle type different than the first vehicle type.

Commercial logistic facility, configurable modular robotic autonomous guided vehicle, and method therefor

An autonomous transport vehicle including a frame having a longitudinal axis extending from a front of the frame to a back of the frame, at least one first guide member mounted on one side of the frame and having a first guide member frame of reference, and at least one second guide member mounted to an opposite side of the frame than the at least one first guide member and having a second guide member frame of reference, wherein the first and second guide members are asymmetrically compliant guide members so that a stiffness of the at least one first guide member in response to a force in a predetermined direction relative to the first guide member frame of reference is different than a stiffness of the at least second guide member in response to the force in the predetermined direction relative to the second guide member frame of reference.

Autonomous transport vehicle

A method for forming an electrical connection with head gimbal assembly. At least a portion of an unmounted head gimbal assembly is placed on a surface. The unmounted head gimbal assembly includes a flexible portion, the flexible portion includes contact pads, and the surface includes electrical contacts and slots. A section of the flexible portion is pushed against the surface, and the contact pads are interconnected with the electrical contacts using a clamp assembly controlled by a computer. The clamp assembly includes a clamp with pins, and the interconnecting includes engaging the pins with the slots, rotating the clamp towards the surface, and clamping the contact pads against the electrical contacts.

Electrical connection for testing head gimbal assemblies

A method for dynamic electrical testing of head gimbal assemblies may include initiating an automated continuous process that includes selecting an unmounted head gimbal assembly; aligning the unmounted head gimbal assembly; loading the unmounted head gimbal assembly to a disc; and testing the unmounted head gimbal assembly.

Method and apparatus for head gimbal assembly testing

A method for making an electrical connection between a head gimbal assembly and a tester. The method includes providing a solderless connector including a housing with bores extending from a first side of the housing to a second opposed side of the housing, and conductors within the bores of the housing. The conductors have a first end protruding from the first side of the housing and a second end protruding from the second side of the housing. The solderless connector is positioned so the first end of the conductor engages the conductive pad of the tester, and a clamp is applied to the first side of the electrical contact on the head gimbal assembly to urge the second side of the electrical contact against the second end of the conductor on the solderless connector.
