A dispensing system includes a first metering system including a first housing, a first metering rod at least partially disposed within the first housing, and a first assembly defining a first metering chamber and releasably connected to the first housing. The first metering rod linearly translates through the first metering chamber so as to dispense a discrete amount of a first material from the first metering chamber. The dispensing system also includes a second metering system including a second housing, a second metering rod at least partially disposed within the second housing, and a second assembly defining a second metering chamber and releasably connected to the second housing. The second metering rod linearly translates through the second metering chamber so as to dispense a discrete amount of a second material from the second metering chamber. The first metering system is releasably connected to the second metering system.

A dispensing apparatus having various features is described. The dispensing apparatus can receive a cartridge having a movable plunger configured to direct the fluid through a dispensing valve. The plunger can be movable under a force applied by air pressure. The cartridge can be inserted in the dispensing apparatus using a clamping and sealing mechanism and can be released using a cartridge ejector. The dispensing apparatus can include a ball valve having a ball defining an internal passageway that selectively aligns with a second internal passageway outside of the ball, a brush mounted via an elongating mechanism, and/or a gear train transmitting power from the elongating mechanism.

Cartridge type fluid dispensing apparatus and methods

Apparatus for spraying glass bottle mold bodies, such as blanks and rings in a molding machine, includes nozzles and spray guns mounted on a plate such that the nozzles are positioned to spray the mold bodies with a material such as a lubricant during normal operation of the machine and without shutting the machine down. The apparatus can be installed on an existing machine without changing the molding machine. Rings may be sprayed while in motion during normal machine operation. A nozzle is provided along with check valves to produce a tight conical spray pattern.
