A flexible intelligent electrical switching device with multi-function capability, and methods of use are presented herein which provide an autonomous, reconfigurable switching device. The present disclosure is specifically designed to reduce space, cost of manufacture, efficiency, installation reduction time and ease of implementation.

Flexible intelligent electrical switching device with multi-function capability

An improved bi-stable electrical solenoid switch comprising a solenoid being wound with coil windings. The solenoid having a central aperture defined therein, and the coil windings, which when engaged by a power source, generates a magnetic field. A magnetic coupling member mounted on the solenoid. A plunger partially disposed in the central aperture for movement into and out of the central aperture. A conductive plate coupled to the plunger and provided with contacts on each end of the conductive plate. The conductive plate configured to electrically engage and disengage the solenoid upon respective application of power to the solenoid. The magnetic coupling member configured to reduce the force needed by the solenoid to remain in an open position when selectively energized for moving and retaining the conductive plate of the plunger against the solenoid for allowing wide operating voltage and reduced operating power.

Bi-stable electrical solenoid switch

A power distribution housing including a base, a cover adapted to fit onto the base, a latch member adapted to removably secure the cover to the base, the latch member having a first end pivotably connected to the base and a second end having a latch detent extending therefrom, the latch detent configured to engage a catch in the cover when the latch member is pivoted to a latched position wherein the cover is secured to the base by the latch member, and a locking member coupled to the latch member, the locking member movable between a locked position, in which a locking member extension of the locking member engages a locking member recess in the cover and prevents the latch member from being moved from the latched position to an unlatched position, and an unlocked position in which the locking member extension does not engage the locking member recess.

Power distribution housing

Provided are approaches for modularized power distribution. In one approach, an apparatus may include a module extending into an interior cavity of a housing assembly through an opening formed in a base section of the housing assembly. The module may include a component grid at one end for receiving one or more components (e.g., fuses, relays, circuit breakers, diodes, etc.), and a wiring alignment cover at an opposite end operable with a terminal. The apparatus may further include a mechanical sealing element disposed along one or more surfaces of the module to provide a seal between the module and the base section defining the opening. In another approach, a plurality of modules may be disposed within a plurality of openings formed in the base section. In another approach, the apparatus may include a bracket configured to releasably connect the base section and the cover.

Sealed modular power distribution apparatus

Implementations provide a first option of simultaneously turning on or turning off two distinctly separate and isolated electrical circuits, such as when each of two electrical devices are powered by a different energy source. Implementations provide a second option of connecting the two separate circuits together, such as when both of the first electrical device and the second electrical device are to be powered by both of the different energy sources connected in parallel. Included is an electrically isolative rotor internal to a housing. The rotor is keyed with an external knob used to control rotational position of the rotor. Further included are electrically conductive link bars contained by the rotatable rotor that electrically couple with stationary bus bars dependent upon rotational positioning of the rotor. Other implementations of the enhanced switch are envisioned including another depicted implementation discussed allowing for a double-pole, double-throw switch.
