The invention relates to an elevator comprising an electric linear motor comprising at least one linear stator designed to be located in a fixed correlation to an environment, particularly building, and at least one mover designed for connection with an elevator car to be moved and co-acting with the stator to move the car, which motor comprises a stator beam supporting said at least one stator, which stator beam has at least one side face carrying ferromagnetic poles of said stator spaced apart by a pitch, and which mover comprises at least one counter-face facing said side face(s) of the stator beam, in which counter-face electro-magnetic components of the mover are arranged to co-act with the ferromagnetic poles mounted on the stator beam, which elevator comprises an elevator brake. According to the invention the side face of the stator beam facing the mover and/or the counter face of the mover facing the side face of the stator beam comprise(s) a brake surface which form(s) the brake interface of the elevator brake.

Elevator comprising an electric linear motor

An elevator car arrangement includes an elevator car body and an elevator car sling. The elevator car arrangement further includes a hanging damper arranged to connect the elevator car body and the elevator car sling together for dampening vibrations coming from guide rails through the elevator car sling to the elevator car body. The hanging damper includes a first part connected to a bottom part of the elevator car body; a second part connected to the elevator car sling; and a damping element arranged to dampen vibrations coming from the second part to the first part. A method for dampening vibrations coming from guide rails through the elevator car sling to the elevator car body is disclosed.

Elevator car arrangement and method for dampening vibrations

The invention relates to an elevator arrangement, which comprises one or more elevator units to be moved in an elevator hoistway, said unit(s) including at least an elevator car, and possibly also a counterweight, roping connected to an elevator unit, which roping comprises a plurality of ropes, and a moveable supporting structure in the elevator hoistway for supporting the aforementioned one or more elevator units below it via the aforementioned roping, and a rope pulley or rope pulley stack of the supporting structure in connection with the supporting structure, around which rope pulley or rope pulley stack the aforementioned roping travels, and from which the roping travels down to an elevator unit. The roping travels from the aforementioned rope pulley or rope pulley stack down to an elevator unit, in connection with which is a first rope pulley or rope pulley stack and a second rope pulley or rope pulley stack, which are disposed non-coaxially in relation to each other, their rotation axes being separate from each other in the lateral direction, and in that the first part of the ropes of the roping traveling from the rope pulley or rope pulley stack down to the elevator unit travels to the elevator unit, to the first rope pulley or rope pulley stack that is in connection with the elevator unit, under the pulley or stack, and onwards back up to a rope anchorage arrangement, and the second part to the second rope pulley or rope pulley stack in that is connection with the elevator unit in question, under the pulley or stack, and onwards back up to a rope anchorage arrangement. The invention also relates to corresponding guidance of compensating roping, as well as to a method wherein the service range of the elevator car is increased.

Elevator arrangement and method

An elevator includes a first elevator unit vertically movable in a hoistway; a second elevator unit vertically movable in a hoistway; a suspension roping including one or more belt-shaped suspension ropes interconnecting the first elevator unit and the second elevator unit; a drive wheel for moving said one or more belt-shaped suspension ropes; a plurality of cambered diverting wheels; said one or more belt-shaped suspension ropes each passing around the drive wheel and comprising consecutively a first rope section extending between the drive wheel and the first elevator unit; and a second rope section extending between the drive wheel and the second elevator unit wherein both rope sections diverge from the drive wheel towards the same lateral side thereof, the first rope section passing over a first cambered diverting wheel, in particular resting against a cambered circumferential surface area thereof, and therefrom down to the first elevator unit, and the second rope section passing over a second cambered diverting wheel, in particular resting against cambered circumferential surface area thereof, and therefrom down to the second elevator unit.

Elevator

An elevator includes at least one elevator car and a counterweight which are at least partly suspended on hoisting ropes and a drive machine driving a traction sheave engaging the hoisting ropes for moving the elevator car along guide rails in an elevator shaft, which elevator further includes a compensation rope. The compensation rope is led upwards to an upper part of the elevator shaft and from there aside to a balancing area located aside of the travel paths of the car and counterweight. This solution is particularly adapted for high travel elevators facing horizontal forces during operation as e.g. ship elevators. Collision of compensation ropes are avoided in the area below the car and counterweight paths which could affect the elevator safety when subjected to high horizontal forces, e.g. during rough sea.

Elevator with compensation rope

A method in the manufacture of an elevator, in which is formed an elevator arrangement, which includes an elevator hoistway, at least one elevator unit to be moved in the elevator hoistway, said unit(s) including at least an elevator car, a movable supporting structure in the elevator hoistway above the elevator car, roping suspended from the supporting structure for supporting the aforementioned at least one elevator unit to be moved, in which method the following steps are performed: a) the elevator car is used to transport passengers and/or freight, after which b) the supporting structure is lifted in the elevator hoistway, after which c) the elevator car is used to transport passengers and/or freight. In the method, between steps a) and c), additionally a step x) is performed, in which the section of the roping is lifted, separately from the lifting of the supporting structure, higher up in the elevator hoistway. An elevator arrangement includes a movable diverting pulley separate from the supporting structure, supported by which diverting pulley the section of roping is arranged to be suspended.

Method and elevator arrangement

Method for moving a heavy load, in which method the heavy load is lifted or lowered with an elevator including an elevator car and a hoisting machine, which hoisting machine is arranged to move the elevator car from one level to another in the normal operation of the elevator, in which method the heavy load is moved to be supported by the elevator car and the elevator car is moved until the load is at the desired height, and the load is removed from the support of the elevator car. In the method a hoist that does not belong to the hoisting machine is temporarily connected to the elevator car for the purpose of moving the load, and the elevator car, which supports the load, is moved by the hoist until the load is at the desired height, and the load is removed from the support of the elevator car.

Method and arrangement for moving a heavy load

A method and elevator arrangement wherein a roof structure is lifted higher in a hoistway so as to make more room below the roof structure, the roof structure being a movable roof structure, and in that the movable roof structure is lifted in the hoistway taking support for the lift from a second movable support structure mounted in the hoistway above the roof structure.

Method and an elevator arrangement

In a method in the use of a construction-time elevator, at least two lifts are performed. In each of the lifts, the supporting platform is lifted higher in the elevator hoistway with the hoisting device supported by the support structure so as to extend the operating range of the elevator car to reach higher in the elevator hoistway. A second support structure and a second hoisting device, which are above the support structure, are used between the lifts of the supporting platform, for moving the working platform in the elevator hoistway under construction between the second support structure and the support structure, and for lifting the support structure upwards in the elevator hoistway.
