A method, apparatus, and a computer-readable storage medium are provided for enhanced early measurement reporting procedures at a user equipment. In an example implementation, the method may include a user equipment determining that the user equipment is configured for enhanced early measurement reporting, determining whether to initiate early measurement reporting measurements based on an indication when the user equipment is configured for enhanced early measurement reporting, and initiating the early measurement reporting measurements in response to determining to initiate the early measurement reporting measurements. In an additional example implementation, the method may include a network node transmitting enhanced early measurement reporting configuration to a user equipment and receiving early measurement reporting measurements from the user equipment. The early measurement reporting measurements performed at the user equipment based at least on the enhanced early measurement reporting configuration.

Enhanced early measurement reporting

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to for conditionally skipping monitoring of downlink control channel in random access. A first apparatus receives, from a second apparatus, a command indicating the first apparatus to skip monitoring a downlink control channel between the second apparatus and the first apparatus for a time period. The first apparatus initiates an RA procedure towards the second apparatus. The time period at least partially overlaps with a time window associated with the RA procedure and an end of the time period is after an end of the time window. The first apparatus determines whether the RA procedure is successfully completed or contention resolution for the RA procedure is successful. Based on the determination, the first apparatus ignores or performs the command after the end of the time window.

Conditional skipping monitoring of downlink control channel

Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to discontinuous reception configuration for multi-beam operations. A method includes receiving, at a first device and from a second device, configuration information indicating a first plurality of configuration settings associated with a plurality of transmission beams of the second device, the first plurality of configuration settings at least including a first plurality of scrambling identifiers. The method also includes in accordance with a determination that a first transmission beam of the plurality of transmission beams is configured for the first device as a serving beam, selecting, from the first plurality of scrambling identifiers, a first scrambling identifier associated with the first transmission beam. The method further includes monitoring for first control information transmitted by the second device via the first transmission beam using the first scrambling identifier, the first control information indicating presence of data to be transmitted by the second device.

Discontinuous reception configuration for multi-beam operations

A method may include monitoring, by a user equipment, a first wake up signal prior to a paging occasion during a discontinuous reception cycle. The method may also include decoding a physical downlink control channel based on the paging occasion in response to detecting the first wake up signal. The method may also include determining that the decoding failed. The method may further include switching to a common paging occasion to decode the physical downlink control channel after determining that the decoding failed.

Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a device, method, apparatus and computer readable storage medium of scheduling request (SR) and random access (RA) triggering for small data transmission (SDT). In example embodiments, a terminal device receives, from a network device, a configuration of one or more configured grant (CG) resources for a SDT procedure and a list of one or more data radio bearers (DRBs) associated with respective logical channels (LCHs) allowed for SDT over at least one of the one or more CG resources. After the terminal device initiates the SDT procedure in an inactive mode, if the terminal determines that a buffer status report (BSR) is triggered, the terminal device determines whether a configuration of a SR mask is to be applied for a LCH configured for SDT.

A network node in a wireless network sends a selected BWP toward a UE, the selected BWP to be used by the UE during a connection procedure used to connect the UE to the wireless network after the UE enters an idle or inactive state. The selected BWP is different from an initial BWP that would have been used by the UE during the connection procedure. The network node receives from the user equipment a message for connection to the wireless network using the selected BWP. The UE receives the selected BWP and uses the selected BWP to send, while in one of an idle state or an inactive state, a message for connection to the wireless network using the selected BWP (e.g., and not the initial BWP).

Apparatus can receive information on limitation(s) of BWP(s) supported in a cell of the base station and inhibit a terminal from accessing the cell based on limitation(s) of the BWP(s) supported in the cell and limitation(s) of BWP(s) supported by the terminal. Apparatus can select access parameter(s) based on limitation(s) of the BWP(s) supported in the cell and limitation(s) of the BWP(s) supported by the terminal, and instruct the terminal to reselect/camp on the cell using the access parameter(s). BWP(s) supported by the terminal can include a network BWP usable for early data transmission. Apparatus can allow/inhibit cell access by terminal based on, e.g., type of access or terminal type. Apparatus can instruct base station to provide information on limitation(s) of BWP(s) provided by the base station. Each BWP can be subcarrier spacing specific.

There is provided a method, comprising: determining a presence indicator configuration defining how a presence indicator is to be interpreted, wherein, based on the configuration, the presence indicator indicates whether a set of one or more configured reference signal occasions of a cell carries reference signals; obtaining from a base station the presence indicator; obtaining from the base station at least one reference signal configuration, each indicating at least one configured reference signal occasion; and determining, based on the presence indicator and the obtained presence indicator configuration, whether a given reference signal occasion indicated by the at least one reference signal configuration carries a reference signal.

Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to beam reporting triggered by data transmission. A first device receives from a second device configuration information concerning at least one candidate beam for serving the first device. The first device determines whether data is available for transmission from the first device to the second device. Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to measurement relaxation. In an aspect, a terminal device determines a short discontinuous reception (DRX) cycle and a long DRX cycle configured for the terminal device. Based on at least one of the short DRX cycle or the long DRX cycle, the terminal device determines at least one of (i) whether the terminal device is allowed to relax a measurement, or (ii) a relaxed evaluation period for the measurement. In this way, the UE behavior is predictable and thus communication efficiency or effectiveness in a communication system can be improved.
