A packaging pouch (,) with an integral drinking straw or pouring spout (,) and an easy-to-open protective region providing access to the drinking straw or pouring spout, features a first compartment (,) to accommodate the contents e.g. a drink and&mdash;separated in a fluid-tight manner&mdash;a second compartment (,) to accommodate a tube part (,). The tube (,) leads from the first compartment (,) to the second compartment (,) and is joined in the transition region to the pouch (,) in a fluid-tight manner and features a valve element for opening and closing a through-flow channel (,). At the end projecting into the second compartment the tube features a closure (,) which is closed in a fluid-tight manner when the pouch is in the unopened state and contains a valve element (,) which, under the action of pressure from the side, frees a through-flow channel (,) and which closes automatically.

Pouch-shaped form of packaging

Gas-tight container featuring an outer shell of metal or metal and plastic or metal and cellulose-containing material, a base, a lid and at least one side-wall. The container may be e.g. a can with, as viewed in plan view, a polygonal, round or oval cross-section. The base or part of the base of the gas-tight container exhibits a region which may be made to bulge and which is surrounded by an endless depression and, in the condition in which the can may be used, is in the form of a concave bulge. A container of this kind is such that one can readily recognize if the contents have suffered from spoiling or decomposition and, as a consequence, gas has been formed inside the container. If the pressure inside the container increases, the bulge is pushed outwards and, usefully, may form a convex bulge. If the bulge is pushed out by the increase in internal pressure, it projects beyond the outer limits of the container base rim, as a result of which the linear or ring-shaped contact the base rim makes with an underlying surface changes to two point contact and the container indicates a chemical or physical change by its instability on an underlying surface.

Gas-tight container

A sealing tool for heat-sealing a pull-off lid (1) with a tearing-open tab (13) onto a container (4) comprises an upper sealing jaw (5) and a lower sealing jaw (6). The upper sealing jaw (5) is equipped, in the region of the tearing-open tab (13), with recesses (11) which start from the edge (10) of the pressure surface (9) making the sealing seam and which extend over the smaller part of the width of the pressure surface (9).

With a sterilizable composite container as preserving receptacle for food and other filled container products, which . . . by a simple tray or multi-compartment tray of plastic, receiving the filled product, a flexible or semi-rigid lid of a plastic/aluminium/plastic laminate, which is sealed by heat sealing to the border of the tray and any land, and a stretch formed trough of the same shape as the tray, which trough consists of flexible plastic/aluminium/plastic laminate and surrounds, in close contact, the covered tray, the border of the trough being sealed on the lower part of the boarder of the tray by means of the action of temperature and pressure and/or, if appropriate, to the lid protruding beyond the border of the tray, the disadvantage affecting the known packs of flexible laminates for the same purposes of a low dimensional stability and their tendency to take on an unattractive appearance due to the formation of folds, in particular if the filled product is viscous or does not have any inherent stability, is voided.

Composite container for food and process for its production

The invention relates to a process for the continuous manufacture of foamed sheets of thermoplastic material having an extreme width to thickness ratio, small thickness tolerance, a uniform cell structure and, over the whole cross section on both sides of the sheet a thin, non-foamed outer skin. The plastic, which already contains the foaming agent is, on emerging from a wide-slit nozzle, allowed to foam freely without any restriction and cool. The sheet or strip formed in this manner is then heated locally at the surface and calibrated to final dimension.
