A needle thread passing device is capable of being constructed in a small size for easy storage. A needle receiving memberhas a needle insertion holeand a thread insertion slitforming an angle with the needle insertion hole. A needle threader memberis movable between positions away from and close to the needle receiving memberand has a needle threader pinthat can push a thread inserted through the thread insertion slitinto a needle eyeof a needleinserted into the needle insertion holewhen the needle threader membermoves from the position away from the needle receiving memberto position close thereto. A covercan move with respect to a main bodycontaining the needle receiving member. The needle threader memberis constantly biased toward the position away from the needle receiving member. The covercan move between a locking position at which the needle threader memberis locked to the position close to the needle receiving memberand an allowable position at which the needle threader member is allowed to move between the positions away from and close to the needle receiving member. At the storage time, the cover is located at the locking position.
