In an air-conditioning system for a motor vehicle having an internal combustion engine with an engine cooling circuit with a heat exchanger for heating and a heat pump with a refrigerant circuit including a heat exchanger for cooling the interior compartment of the motor vehicle, the refrigerant circuit includes also heat exchanges for heating or for cooling the coolant in the engine cooling circuit.

Air-conditioning system for a motor vehicle

In an air-conditioning system for a motor vehicle having an integrated heat pump for cooling and heating, in which refrigerant is circulated and which allows heat exchange with the incoming air for the interior compartment of the motor vehicle, the heat transfer is effected either directly, by means of a refrigerant/air heat exchanger through which the air for the interior compartment is conducted, or by means of a secondary refrigerant circuit, which includes two expansion devices and three heat exchangers provided in the refrigerant circuit of the system.

In a needle valve () for a high-pressure gas conduit system consisting of two units () which are joined and one of which encloses a stepping motor () and the other includes gas flow passages and a gas flow control bore (), a valve needle () is supported in the housing unit so as to be movable by the stepping motor and extends into the gas flow control bore () in the other housing unit through a guide passage () provided with seals to prevent gas from flowing to the housing unit including the stepping motor () between a region of the guide bore () and a low pressure region of the needle valve () a compensation connection is provided for relief of pressure at the sealing region () of the guide bore (). The needle valve is particularly suitable as an expansion valve in an automotive COair conditioning system.

In a piston for a compressor, the piston comprises a stem by which the piston may be guided in the housing in an axially displaceable manner, and a force introducing section where an outer drive force can be introduced into the piston. The piston head, the piston skirt and the force introducing section are successively arranged in the direction of the piston axis. The piston head, the piston skirt and the force introducing section are produced as a single element of graphite or a synthetic material, and the piston skirt comprises a solid strut structure and a guide section, the cross-sectional area of the strut structure being smaller than the surface of the piston head. The piston consists of a non-organic, non-metallic material having an average thermal expansion of less than 7&#xd7;10/&#xb0; C. in the temperature range of 0&#xb0; C. to 200&#xb0; C.

Piston for a compressor

A process for heating the passenger compartment (10) in a motor vehicle, particularly an electric vehicle, having a heating device (12), which is supplied with an air current (40) extracted, via a waste-air duct (11), from the passenger compartment (10). The air current enters into the passenger compartment (10) from the heating device (12) via an intake-duct (13). In order to prevent internal misting of the vehicle's windows, even with a low heating capacity, at least one partial air current (40a), which is branched off from the air current (40) prior to entry into the passenger compartment (10), flows through a sorbent (15) such as zeolite or the like.

Process and apparatus for heating the passenger compartment of a motor

The invention relates to a sorption method for air-conditioning vehicles, especially electric vehicles, and a device for working the method. To achieve rapid cooling or heating by means of vehicle air conditioning while achieving improved manufacturing, cost, and weight advantages, it is proposed that the sorption unit, composed of a storage container with sorbent, a supply container with sorbate, and a steam duct connecting the containers with one another, is evacuated only to perform an adsorption process employing a vacuum pump and is vented for desorption. The sorbent located in the storage container is traversed by hot air for desorption, said air, moistened with sorbate after passing through, being vented to the environment past the supply container after flowing through a vent line that branches off the steam duct.

Sorption device and method of operating same for electric driven vehicle

The invention relates to a motor vehicle with an air-conditioning system which contains an environmentally compatible, non-flammable and non-toxic circulating medium. In order to avoid any risk to the vehicle occupants in a vehicle crash as a result of fire breaking out, it is proposed that the circulating medium be used as an extinguishing medium in the event of a fire breaking out on the motor vehicle.
