A hydraulic vehicle brake with a parking brake device, in particular for motor vehicles, includes a brake housing in which a hydraulic service pressure chamber is delimited by a brake piston, wherein hydraulic pressure fluid can be applied to the hydraulic service pressure chamber for carrying out service brake operations so that the brake piston is actuatable along a longitudinal piston axis in order to achieve a braking effect. The parking brake device acts on the brake piston with an actuating device, which actuates a rolling-element ramp-type gear with an electromechanical actuator. In order to achieve a higher rate of overall efficiency as well as a reduced electric energy consumption, a two-step gear is interposed between the electromechanical actuator () and the actuating device (), wherein the first gear step () on the inlet side is connected to an output shaft () of the electromechanical actuator () and the second gear step () on the outlet side is connected to the rolling-element ramp-type gear ().

Hydraulic vehicle brake with integrated electromechanically operable parking brake

A system and method for an electromechanically actuable parking brake for motor vehicles, which is embodied as a drum brake of the 'duo-servo' type. The parking brake has a brake actuating device which can be actuated by an electromechanical actuator, is designed as an expander element and acts on two brake shoes, the expander element being supported via a spring energy storage device, may be designed as a diaphragm spring assembly, and being spreadable by a predetermined length of travel, when the parking brake is actuated, to apply an application force. In order to provide a sufficiently large hot parking travel, the length of travel travelled by the expander element to apply the application force when the parking brake is actuated can be moved as a function of at least one motor vehicle state parameter.

Electromechanically actuable parking brake for motor vehicles and a method for actuating the same

A method to limit overheating of a brake equipped with an electromechanically actuable parking brake including the steps of: driving a threaded spindle by an electric motor until a power drain (I), corresponding to a brake application force (F), is reached; detection of a travel distance (x) of the piston corresponding to the brake application force (F) of the brake caliper in a locked state; determination of a second travel distance (x) by adding a further travel distance value (x), which corresponds to the desired clearance value, to form (x); driving of the electric motor until the second travel distance (x) has been covered by the brake piston; and comparing the vehicle speed with a predefined first speed value, at the upward transgression of which the electric motor is driven once more in the release direction until a further, previously defined travel distance (x) has been covered.

Method for the secured release of an electromechanically actuable parking brake

An electromechanically actuable parking brake for motor vehicles is disclosed. The brake includes at least one electromechanical actuator whose rotational movement is converted into a translational movement by an actuating unit, and which moves at least one brake element in such a way that at least one brake lining which is connected to the brake element is pressed with a locking force against a rotor which is connected to a motor vehicle wheel, wherein the current consumption of electromechanical actuator when the parking brake is engaged and/or released can be acquired.
