A belt retractor () for a vehicle seat belt, includes a frame () provided with a plurality of blocking teeth (), a belt reel () being rotatably supported in the frame () and a blocking tooth system () adapted to be engaged with the blocking teeth (). A control lever () pivoted on the frame () and accommodates the belt reel (). A sensor () actuates when a predetermined vehicle deceleration is exceeded. A control tooth system () with which the sensor () is adapted to interact is provided at the belt reel ().

Belt retractor with control toothing

A blocking mechanism for a seat belt retractor has a belt reel (10) rotatably mounted in a frame (12), a ratchet toothing (16) arranged on the frame, a ratchet pawl (24) arranged on the belt reel (10) for cooperation with the ratchet toothing (16) and an inertial disc (20) used as a belt webbing-sensitive sensor element. The inertial disc (20) is rotatable relative to the belt reel (10). The ratchet pawl (24) is pivotally mounted on the inertial disc (20). The belt reel (10) has an actuating element (26a) engaging the ratchet pawl (24). In operation, the actuating element (26a) causes the ratchet pawl (24) to engage with the ratchet toothing (16) when the belt reel (10) is rotated relative to the inertial disc (20).

Blocking mechanism for a seat belt retractor

A belt retractor for incorporation in a fold-down type backrest of a vehicle seat is disclosed. The backrest of the seat is able of being latched to a vehicle body in an upright seating position by a lock. The retractor has a frame and a belt reel rotatably mounted in the frame. A blocking mechanism is provided for selectively blocking rotation of the belt reel on the frame. The blocking mechanism is activated as long as the backrest is not locked in place by latching action of the lock. The blocking mechanism comprises an activating means responsive to inertial forces. The activating means has a coupling disk which is connected to the belt reel and has a coupling toothing. The activating means further has a coupling pawl which can be caused to engage the coupling toothing. The coupling pawl comprises a control knuckle coupled by a traction means to the lock.

Belt retractor for incorporating in a fold-down type backrest

A belt retractor for incorporation in a fold-down type backrest of a vehicle seat is disclosed. The backrest of the seat is able of being latched to a vehicle body in an upright seating position by a lock. The retractor has a frame and a belt reel rotatably mounted in the frame. A blocking mechanism is provided for selectively blocking rotation of the belt reel on the frame. The blocking mechanism is activated as long as the backrest is not locked in place by latching action of the lock. The blocking mechanism comprises a spring-loaded actuating element coupled to the lock by a traction cable.

A belt retractor for a vehicle seat belt comprises a belt reel rotatably mounted in a housing, a webbing reeled on the belt reel, a locking mechanism for blocking belt reel rotation, a planetary gearing including a sun gear connected non-rotatably to the belt reel, a ring gear secured to the housing, and at least one planet gear having an outer toothing, as well as a switch unit for determining the buckled-up condition on the basis of the length of the unwound webbing. The switch unit may be electrically coupled to a control unit for activating a gas generator and includes a switch lever actuatable by the movement of the planet gear. The switch lever is configured as a switch rocker pivotable between a first and a second position. The planet gear comprises at least one switch cam directly engaging the switch rocker and moving the switch rocker from the first position into the second position when a predetermined length of unwound webbing is reached.

Belt retractor for a vehicle seat belt

A belt retractor for vehicle safety belts to secure a child's seats or loads on a vehicle seat comprises a belt drum rotatably mounted in a housing and a locking mechanism for preventing rotation of the belt drum. A tripping mechanism is also provided, which has a coupling disk connected with the belt drum and provided with external gear teeth. A pawl is able to be selectively pivoted between an engagement position with the external gear teeth of the coupling disk and a normal position out of engagement with such external gear teeth. A ring of gear teeth is driven by the belt drum and two gear wheels are in mesh with said ring of gear teeth. The gear wheels are rotatably mounted on the ends of a rocking member, which is pivotally mounted on the housing. An actuating arm is connected with the rocking member for the operation of the pawl. Switching elements are provided on the periphery of the gear wheels and of the ring of gear teeth and abut against one another in permanently set relative angular positions of the gear wheels and of the ring of gear teeth, the rocking member being pivoted thereby. The switching elements comprise at least one switching tooth projecting beyond the periphery of one of the ring of gear teeth and the gear wheels and a closed tooth gap on the other of the ring of gear teeth and the gear wheels.
