A method for manufacturing a cage of a polymeric material for a radial rolling bearing with two end rings formed at the cage and arranged at a distance to each other in the axial direction and crossbars spaced behind one another in the peripheral direction connecting the end rings and forming pockets for receiving rolling elements, each crossbar being formed by two relatively thin-walled crossbar walls delimiting the neighboring pockets and a connecting section situated between the crossbar walls, and a device for executing the method.

Method for manufacturing a polymeric cage

A plastic element with an outer surface defining a running surface, particularly for a belt or chain, arranged at the outer circumference of a metallic insert designed as a rolling or sliding bearing, consisting of a polymeric plastic material hardened after polymerization produced in a mold comprising adding an expanding agent to the polymeric plastic material by mixing, inserting the metallic insert into the mold, filling the mold with polymeric plastic material containing an expanding agent at a low pressure compared to injection molding pressures, allowing the polymeric plastic material to expand by action of the expanding agent to the outer surface of the metallic insert and to the mold to form the running surface and hardening the polymer plastic material.

A structural element made of a castable or extrudable polymeric material reinforced by fillers, said structural element having a contact surface in sliding engagement with another element, the structural element being provided on its contact surface with a layer, thin in comparison to the structural element's dimensions, of polymeric material free of fillers, the said layer being unitary with the structural element.

A cage made of polymeric material for a rolling bearing for longitudinal movements comprising two longish, parallel cage plates disposed at a distance from each other and containing pockets arranged crosswise to their longitudinal extension for the reception of cylindrical rolling elements, the cage plates being joined to each other by at least one first crossbar made in one piece with the cage plates, and extending over a part of the length of the cage plates the thickness of the crossbar being less than the thickness of the cage plates and the crossbar acts as a so-called film hinge to permit the cage plates to be brought into different inclined positions relative to each other, characterized in that at least one other crossbar is arranged along another partial length of the cage plates and has a roof-like, curved or similar shape so that its neutral axis between the two cage plates is longer than the neutral axis of the first-mentioned crossbar, and the cage has a stable shape.

A cage for an overrunning clutch with a metallic outer race accommodating concentrically a metallic inner element and having in a cage arranged between the outer race and the inner element camming elements retained under the action of springs in camming contact with the surfaces of the outer race, on the one hand, and of the inner element, on the other hand, the cage being made of injection moldable or castable polymeric material and having pockets for the camming elements defined by crossbars and at least one end ring connected therewith, at least one circumferential surface of the cage cooperating in the form of a sliding bearing with a cylindrical surface of the adjacent structural part (outer race and/or inner element), characterized in that the cage (1,15,22,30,39) is provided at least in the area of the end ring (4,18,23,33,45) with an annular metallic reinforcement shield (13,19,20,26,27,34,35,47) connected to the cage (1,15,22,30,39) in a form-fitting manner especially through injection-molding around the shield and whose temperature expansion coefficient corresponds essentially to that of the outer race (5,40) and the inner element (9,41).

Cage for overrunning clutch

A cage for rolling bearings consisting of individual cage elements provided with rolling element pockets whereby the individual cage elements, at their ends in the region of at least one rolling element pocket have a reduced constructional height where they are placed on one another to overlap in the axial direction and are joined together in this region, characterized by the fact that in the region of the reduced constructional height, cut-outs and lugs are provided which engage with one another in a form fit when these regions are placed on one another and made to overlap.

Self-adjusting hydraulic valve tappet

A method for the production of a cage made of castable or injection moldable polymeric material for rolling elements of a rolling contact bearing whereby the cage has pockets for receiving the rolling elements and contains a porous lubricant carrier, and the pockets have perforated walls to provide a direct contact between the lubricant carrier and the rolling elements. The cage is made in an injection mold or casting mold provided with cores for forming the pockets, characterized in initially inserting the lubricant carrier (5,24) into the mold (1,19), then closing the mold (1,19) whereby the lubricant carrier is elastically deformed by the cores (12,35,36) and finally surrounding the lubricant carrier (5,24) with polymeric material except at its supporting surface (14,38) and its surfaces engaging the cores (12, 35, 36).

A polymeric cage for cam rollers in an overrunning clutch comprising an end ring connected to a plurality of crossbars defining roller pockets axially open on one side and leaf spring elements integrally on the crossbars for acting on the cam rollers, the spring element (4) at the outer wall surface of the crossbar extends outside the adjacent pocket in its unassembled state and becomes bent substantially radially inwardly during insertion of the roller whereby it is bent inwardly after insertion of cam roller (6).

Polymeric cage for overrunning clutch

A novel cage for an overrunning roller clutch the cage being made of polymeric material and having two end rings connected by crossbars for forming a plurality of pockets for cam rollers, the crossbars being provided with integrally molded leaf shaped spring elements acting on the cam rollers, each crossbar having on its outer diameter at least one spring element which in its initial state extends essentially in a plane containing the cage axis and which is bent essentially radially inwardly when the cam roller is inserted in the respective pocket.
