Dicalcium phosphate anhydride powder of which at least 50% by weight is of a grain size of between 45 and 150 &#x3bc;m, a maximum of 50% by weight is of a grain size of &#x3c;45 &#x3bc;m and a maximum of 5% by weight is of a grain size &#x3e;150 &#x3bc;m and which has a bulk density of between 1000 and 1500 g/l and a specific surface area of &#x3c;5 m/g is used for direct tabletting or capsule filling of pharmaceutical preparations.

The invention relates to dicalcium phosphate anhydride powder, at least 50 wt. % thereof having a particle size of between 45 and 150 &#x3bc;m, a maximum of 50 wt. % having a particle size of &#x3c;45 &#x3bc;m, and a maximum of 5 wt. % having a particle size of &#x3e;150 &#x3bc;m. Said powder also exhibits a bulk density of 1000 to 5000 g/l and a specific surface area of &#x3c;5 m/g, and is used to directly tablet or encapsulate pharmaceutical preparations.
