In a process for manufacturing finite extruded profiles (3) from elastomer material with at least one projecting sealing lip (12) of different contour (32) over the length of the profile, for simple and very accurate manufacture the invention proposes that by means of two needles (10, 11) which act laterally on the sealing lip (12) and whose depth of contact (a) is controlled by a cam disk (5), the specified contour configuration (32) in the corresponding profile area (12) is incised in the form of grooves and the projecting profile section (38) severed after vulcanization (FIG. 1).

Process for manufacturing finite extruded profiles

A method for producing a sealing profile, such as for a motor vehicle, includes integrally extruding a profile with longitudinal regions, a clamping region of a compact elastomer, a U-shaped slit metal insert, and a sealing region of sponge rubber. The longitudinal regions are prestretched causing permanent stretching of the metal insert prior to bending the profile around narrow radii without creasing. The sealing profile includes a clamping region of a compact elastomer, a U-shaped slit metal insert, and a sealing region of sponge rubber coextruded integrally with the clamping region. The metal insert may be permanently prestretched in segments.

Method for producing a sealing profile

An assembly of a motor vehicle having a roof, a door, and a window pane includes a box-like frame of the door, and a window guide profile section to be retained on the door frame. The door frame has a top with a longitudinally extending gap formed therein. The window guide profile section has a sealing lip, an inner surface with a rib-like projection thereon, and a U-shaped cross section. The window guide profile section is slipped onto the door frame with the sealing lip protruding laterally toward the window pane and laterally toward the roof, and the projection snapping into the gap.

Configuration for retaining a window guide profile section

A method for fixing a window guide section with a mounting to a metal frame, especially in the door of a motor vehicle, includes decoupling the metal frame from the mounting of the window guide section with an interposed intermediate system compensating for manufacturing tolerances and assuming the function of the mounting. The metal frame of the motor vehicle door has a rear surface and two outwardly-projecting webs with free ends. The window guide section has recesses of a given shape formed therein. A configuration for fixing the window guide section to the metal frame includes a rigid plastic section surrounding the rear surface of the metal frame. The plastic section extends beyond the free ends of the webs and at least partially surrounds the webs at a given location. The plastic section has laterally-projecting mounting projections with the given shape in the vicinity of the given location being buttoned into the recesses in the window guide section.

Method and corresponding configuration for fixing a window guide section

A sealing profile includes a basic body being formed of elastomeric material and having a U-shaped cross section defining an inner surface thereof with sides. A metallic reinforcement inlay is disposed in the basic body. Sealing lips are integrally formed on the inner surface of the basic body. At least one of the sealing lips on one of the sides of the inner surface of the basic body is formed of the same material as the basic body. The at least one sealing lip has a substantially triangular cross section defining corners and an enlarged head surface. One of the corners pivotally connects the at least one sealing lip to the basic body. The enlarged head surface of the sealing lip has a concavely curved recess formed therein.

Apparatus for electrostatically flock-coating elongated workpieces on a conveyor belt, wherein flock charged by an electrostatic field drops upon a workpiece from a feed opening located above the workpiece to be flock-coated, and excess flock is collected at the bottom of the apparatus and returned to the feed opening, which includes a stationary cylindrical inner housing having a substantially horizontal longitudinal axis and formed with a feed opening, the feed opening being elongated and located in a region of the cylindrical housing on an upper apex line thereof, the housing being also formed with a discharge gap in a lower region thereof whereat the conveyor belt is simultaneously disposed; a cylindrical outer jacket coaxially surrounding and spaced from the cylindrical inner housing and being rotatable about the inner housing; and elastic transport strips disposed in the space between the inner housing and the outer jacket and fastened to the outer jacket, the elastic transport strips extending along generatrix lines and bridging the space between the inner housing and the outer jacket.

Apparatus for electrostatically coating elongated workpieces with flock

The invention relates to a method and device for continuously applying a decorative strip to a rubber profile or section, especially for use in the automobile industry, wherein the decorative strip is inserted into a corresponding groove-shaped recess formed in the surface of the rubber profile or section.
