A training cartridge has a plastic projectile or plastic dummy projectile wherein the projectile or dummy projectile is integrally molded on a synthetic resin sleeve open at the rear end. The sleeve is inserted in a cartridge case of metal open at its front end. The cartridge case with case shoulder and case neck formed thereon is made to be open also at the rear end so that the synthetic resin sleeve can be inserted from the rear end into the cartridge case in close contact with the inner wall thereof. A separate metallic bottom piece is inserted into the rear end of the cartridge case, sealing the case tightly toward the rear.

Training cartridge with plastic projectile or dummy projectile

A training cartridge has a synthetic resin projectile or dummy projectile wherein the projectile or dummy projectile is integrally molded to a synthetic resin sleeve or tube open at the rear end. The sleeve is inserted from the front end of a cartridge case of metal that is open at its front end. The sleeve is held within the cartridge case by drawing the cartridge case inwards, after insertion of the synthetic resin sleeve, in its frontal zone to form a conical case shoulder and a cylindrical case neck, which shoulder and neck encompass the synthetic resin sleeve in firm contact therewith. This arrangement achieves clean separation of the projectile from the remainder of the synthetic resin sleeve and/or avoids uncontrolled tearing off of parts of the synthetic resin sleeve.

Training cartridge with synthetic resin projectile or dummy projectile

A projectile, especially for hand firearms and automatic pistols, including a core member formed of a first material and provided with a blind bore extending in the forward direction into an outwardly inclined truncated cone surface indentation in the core member. A projectile insert member formed of a second material which is more difficult to deform than the first material, contacts the core member along the outwardly inclined truncated cone surface thereof and is provided with a lug portion extending into said blind bore of the core member for detachably joining said insert member and said core member. A jacket member encompasses the rear portion of said core member and extends forwardly at least up to a zone of the core member surrounding said blind bore. The jacket member has a front edge portion which terminates at a spacing from the forward edge portion of the core member so as to provide an unjacketed strip portion of the core member thereat.

Projectile, especially for hand firearms and automatic pistols

A projectile, especially for hand and long firearms, including a projectile body having a longitudinal axis, a front face and a rear face, a deformation cavity extends partially into the projectile body at the front face thereof and a continuous axial bore is provided in the projectile body in communicating relationship with the rear face and the deformation cavity. The projectile body has a wall thickness in the region surrounding the deformation cavity which is smaller than the wall thickness in the region surrounding the axial bore. A cap is initially disposed in the region of the front face of the projectile body for covering at least the deformation cavity, the cap being separated from the projectile body within the barrel of the firearm during firing of the projectile and exiting from the barrel in front of the projectile body.
