In a cylinder-head-mounted camshaft bearing structure for an internal combustion engine in which the camshaft bearings are mounted on the cylinder head by bearing caps arranged in spaced relationship from one another and the bearing caps have aligned mounting holes receiving rocker-arm support shafts for pivotally supporting the rocker arms between said bearing caps and the bearing caps are further interconnected by longitudinal webs so as to form an integral frame-like bridge unit, transverse webs are disposed between said caps in spaced relationship therefrom and interconnect the longitudinal webs so as to define between the transverse webs and between the webs and the adjacent bearing caps spaces receiving the rocker arms.

Cylinder-head-mounted camshaft bearing for an internal combustion engine

A valve actuation appliance for an internal combustion engine having an actuation lever and a coupling lever which can be coupled thereto. The levers are driven by different cams. In order to prevent coupling of the two levers in a region relative to the camshaft position, particularly when it is not certain that the coupling procedure will be concluded without interruption, it is proposed that the base circle of one of the two cams be lowered in that region by a slight amount relative to the rest of the base circle.

An internal combustion engine with a return line for exhaust gases which connects the exhaust system with an inlet line provided with a throttle valve; the orifice of the return line in the inlet line is thereby located within the control cross section of the inlet line so that with a closed and substantially closed throttle valve, the orifice is upstream of the throttle valve whereas with an opened or substantially opened throttle valve, it is disposed downstream thereof.
