In order to realize shortened response and release times in a pneumatic brake booster for a hydraulic motor vehicle brake system, having an operating chamber which is delimited between an operating wall and a rear wall of the booster housing, the rear wall of the booster housing has at least one formation for reducing the minimum volume of the operating chamber.

Pneumatic brake booster

A pneumatic brake booster having a booster housing. The booster housing has at least two thin-walled shell elements and an elastomer sealing element. The sealing element has a sealing bead, which is of encircling form radially at the outside, and at least one rolling diaphragm portion which adjoins the sealing bead. The sealing bead is sealingly clamped in a clamping space between the shell elements. The clamping space is formed by walls which are generated in the shell elements by deformation, its radial inner wall formed by a tubular, axially forwardly extending projection, which is folded at its front edge, of the second shell element. It is proposed that a bead-side rear wall of the clamping space is formed by an encircling, radially outwardly projecting collar which is formed on the second shell element.

Pneumatic brake booster having a sealing element

A pneumatic brake booster having a vacuum chamber and a working chamber in a booster housing separated from one another by an elastic diaphragm. The diaphragm bears in regions against a diaphragm plate axially displaceable between a zero position and a maximum stroke. An axial spacing between the zero position and the maximum stroke defines a stroke range of the brake booster. The diaphragm has a rolling fold which, during the displacement of the diaphragm plate, rolls on a rolling region on an inner wall of the booster housing. In order to offer a solution in which it is the intention for a modular system for different stroke ranges to be formed more efficiently and for the efficiency loss to be minimized or avoided, the booster housing has, in the rolling region, a tapered, conical portion with a cone angle &#x2265;8&#xb0; and an axial extent &#x3e;&#x2153;*stroke range.

In order to minimize spreading, without additional parts, of connecting bolts of a pneumatic brake booster in a manner which is brought about by the deformation of a bearing surface on a booster housing before and during its assembly on a provided vehicle body part, it is proposed that the bearing surface is assigned a planar surface section in an immediately adjacent manner which is configured so as to be plane-parallel with respect to the bearing surface and so as to be axially inwardly recessed on the booster housing with a circumferential step.

Brake booster

A braking device, for a motor vehicle brake system. The braking device has at least one movable activation element, at least one device for monitoring the position and movement of at least one activation element, and at least one compressible, electrically conductive device spring which is elastically prestressed between two abutments, wherein at least one of the abutments is of movable design, and the movement of the abutment is coupled at least partially to a movement of at least one activation element. The device spring is provided for moving at least one of the abutments into its unactivated release position. The invention proposes that the device spring be assigned a sensing function for monitoring the position and movement of at least one activation element. A degree of compression of the device spring can be sensed, and the device spring is arranged in an electrically insulated fashion between the two abutments.

A pneumatic brake booster with a booster housing is subdivided into at least one working chamber and at least one vacuum chamber by means of at least one axially movable wall capable of being acted upon with a pneumatic differential pressure. An actuable input member includes a valve piston, with an output member for acting upon a brake master cylinder with an output force. A control valve is arranged in a control housing and can be actuated by the valve piston for controlling the differential pressure. An elastic reaction element is arranged in a control housing recess and against which the output member bears. Means for setting a distance z between the valve piston and the reaction element are provided on the output member.

A pneumatic brake booster with a booster housing, which comprises a first and a second housing shell and is subdivided into a working chamber and a vacuum chamber by an axially movable wall to which a pneumatic differential pressure can be applied, with the movable wall being formed of a diaphragm plate and a diaphragm abutting thereon that includes a radially inward sealing bead and a radially outward sealing bead for sealing the two chambers and the radially outward sealing bead is compressible between the housing shells. The present invention relates to a brake booster with at least one booster housing section including an opening into which a sealing element made of a flexible material is mounted, said sealing element including a recess into which a pneumatic connecting element, in particular for the vacuum supply of the brake booster, is slidable. An object of the present invention is to precisely define the exit portion of a deflected connecting element in its rotational position relative to the housing of the booster in order to simplify and improve the assembly. This object is achieved in that associated projections and recesses are used to ensure that the connecting element can only be mounted into the sealing element at the correct angle.

The present invention relates to a brake force transmission device for a brake force booster with an elastic reaction element, and input member with an associated effective surface, an output member with an associated effective surface, and a first transmission ratio that is defined by a ratio of the effective surfaces being in operative engagement with the reaction element. An object of the present invention is to provide means of a simple design, if possible arranged in the form of an assembly, giving the operator of an automotive vehicle increased support when high braking forces are required. The essence of the invention is the provision of means which starting from a determined pressure prevailing in the reaction element will reduce the reaction force introduced into the input member by a defined amount. The driver is thus given additional support, requiring a proportionately reduced increase in input force for a further increase in output force. It is thus possible for the driver to better proportion the necessarily higher brake forces after the abrupt increase in the ratio of the amplification.
