A paper holder, especially for a small office type photocopying machine or the like, is provided with two sections disposed one behind the other for respective stacks of paper sheets. The sections of the holder are disposed so that they can be selectively utilized with the one or the other ends of the holder inserted into the copying machine. Paper sheets are fed to the machine from the respective one of the sections inserted into the machine. The other sheet stack which may contain a paper of a different format or a different quality is then held in reserve in the same paper holder. The paper holder is provided with a heater in order to facilitate the drying of both stacks of paper and also so that the stack of paper held in reserve is immediately ready upon its insertion to give error free copying qualities.

A drum for an electrophotographic copier which serves as an intermediate image carrier which drum is rotatably mounted in the copier and includes a takeup roll and a supply roll with photoconducting material, in the form of a web, being guided from the supply roll over a deflection roll outwardly to the surface of the drum and over a second deflection roll to the takeup roll. The takeup roll is adapted to be coupled to a drive motor disposed outside of the drum for a stepwise feed of the photoconducting material. The drum is rotatably mounted by two pins with one of the pins being rotatable circumferentially relative to the drum and being non-rotatably connectable with a gear meshing with a further gear mounted on the takeup roll. The one pivot pin is connected by a freewheel mechanism to a drive motor which, in normal operation, drives another component of the copier with the rotational direction of the drive motor being reversible in order to drive the one pivot pin.

Image carrier drum for an electrophotographic copier

A developing station for an electrostatic copier which station includes a magnetic roller connected to a rotary drive and disposed within a stationary sleeve made of a non-magnetizable material. The magnetic roller is adapted to receive a powdered toner, especially a single-component toner along its outer circumference. The stationary sleeve and roller are disposed so that an area of the outer circumference of the stationary sleeve and roller is located opposite an image carrier or an intermediate image carrier which is transported through the developing station past the magnetic roller. At least an outer surface of the sleeve is formed of an electrically insulating material with an insert or covering of an electrically conducting material being provided in the area of the sleeve which is opposite the image carrier or the intermediate image carrier.
