A powder blender for a system for continuous processing of powder products comprises a horizontal blending tube extending along an axis from a first end to a second end. The horizontal blending tube comprises at least one inlet configured to receive the powder products to be blended, and at least one outlet configured to discharge the powder products after blending. At least two blending devices are positioned in the blending tube and arranged successively along the axis of the blending tube. At least two actuators, wherein each of the at least two actuators is configured to operate one of the at least two blending devices such that the at least two blending devices are actuated differently from each other.

Powder blender for a system for continuous processing of powder products

A method for continuous production of tablets, including providing a contained module comprising at least two inlets, at least one mixing unit, at least one analytical sensor, a tablet press, and at least one outlet for tablets, feeding an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) to one of the at least two inlets, feeding an excipient to the other of the at least two inlets, mixing the material stream comprising the API and the excipient in the at least one mixing unit, measuring parameters of the contents of the material stream with the at least one analytical sensor upstream of the tablet press, controlling the two inlets and/or the mixing unit in response to the parameters measured, continuously supplying the tablet press with the material stream, controlling the speed of the tablet press in response to the parameters measured upstream of the tablet press, and discharging tablets at the at least one outlet.

Tablet production module and method for continuous production of tablets

The contained module () comprises inlets for an active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) and for an excipient. The inlets are in fluid communication with at least one mixing unit (), and the outlet of the tablet press () is in fluid communication with the releasable outlet port for tablets. The material stream comprising the API and the excipient is mixed in the mixing units. During operation parameters of the contents of the material stream are measured with one or more analytical sensors upstream of the tablet press. The speed of the tablet press is controlled in response to the parameters measured upstream of the tablet press. The finished tablets are discharged at an outlet of the tablet press ().

A method for controlling a tablet press comprises the steps of consecutively supplying material into each die of a die table, subjecting the material to a pre-compression and a main-compression, whereby the main-compression is performed under substantially constant compression force and variable resulting tablet thickness of the individual tablets, and measuring a weight value representative of the weight of the material fed into the die. The quantity of material supplied to each die is regulated on the basis of a deviation between a previously measured weight value and a first set value. The weight value is measured during pre-compression of the material located in each die. A rotary tablet press is also disclosed.

Method for controlling a tablet press

A system for rejection of tablets produced in a rotary tablet press comprises pan ejection nozzle for sorting out defective tablets. The ejection nozzle is supplied with compressed gas through a supply line having an inlet end for connection with a source of compressed gas and an outlet end communicating with the ejection nozzle. The supply line is provided with a control valve controlled by a control unit in order to open the supply line when a defective tablet has been detected by the control unit. Furthermore, the supply line is provided with a sensor arranged between the control valve and the inlet end of the supply line and adapted to detect a variable indicative of a gas flow through the control valve in order for the control unit to generate an error signal in the case of malfunction of the control valve.

System for rejection of tablets produced in a rotary tablet press and a method of rejection of tablets

A rotary tablet press comprises a rotary system constituted by a turret and a drive shaft arranged in a housing for rotation of the turret. The turret includes a die table and a number of punches are guided in the turret. The turret is connectable to the drive shaft by a coupling including a first coupling part and a second coupling part which are interconnectable by clamping elements engageable between the coupling parts by at least one pneumatic actuator situated in the rotary system.

Rotary tablet press

The rotary tablet press comprises a housing, in which a compression unit ( ) is detachably mounted. The compression unit ( ) comprises a die table ( ) with punches ( ), a feeding device for the supply of material to be compressed into the dies ( ), and a tablet discharge device for removal of compressed material in the form of tablets. The compression unit ( ) encloses each die opening and its corresponding first punch end ( ) in a chamber, the feeding device and the tablet discharge device are enclosed, the feeding device communicates with an inlet for detachable connection with an external supply channel, and the tablet discharge device communicates with an outlet.
