The invention relates to a device () for cooling a metal strip () between two rolling stands (), wherein the strip () is led over a leading-over element () of a flat form and arranged under the leading-over element () is a spraying element (), which directs cooling medium () onto the underside () of the strip () through at least one opening () in the leading-over element (). To achieve an improved spray pattern, the invention provides that at least two openings () are introduced into the leading-over element (), said openings being arranged next to each other in a direction transverse (Q) to the conveying direction (F) of the strip () and having an elongated form, wherein the longitudinal axis () of the opening () is aligned at an angle (&#x3b1;) with respect to the conveying direction (F) of the strip.

The invention relates to a method for lubricating rolls, in particular for lubricating a rolling nip in rolling stands for rolled strips. According to the invention, said lubrication takes place using an oil-in-water dispersion whilst maintaining both a predetermined blend characteristic and a volumetric flow of the dispersion. The dispersion is prepared in the form of a homogeneous blend in a mixer () using adjustable quantities of water and oil. The dispersion is supplied to various spray zones (Zi) for a distribution (Bi) that is variable in width. Said method for roll lubrication can be improved by the allocation of at least one row of nozzles (Di) to each spray zone (Zi), which has a corresponding spray range width (Bi), each nozzle being controlled by at least one relay valve (Si).

The invention relates to a method and device for measuring and influencing the strip flatness in the coiler shaft of a hot-strip mill, whereby the coiler shaft has, between a driver and a coiler, moving and stationary strip guides as well as a flatness measuring roll (). The hot strip () is supplied via the coiler shaft to a coiler, which is provided with a coiler mandrel (), pressure rolls () and with deflecting shells (), over a roller table () and the driving rolls () of the driver. The flatness measuring roll () is displaced out of a working position, in which the hot strip is guided around the flatness measuring roll () while maintaining an approximately constant contact angle &#x3b1;, and into a lowered position. In addition, a strip guide (), which can swivel inward and protects the flatness measuring roll (), is placed inside the coiler shaft.

An apparatus for cooling the work rolls of a roll stand includes for each roll a cooling water duct equipped with spray nozzles at a spray beam as well as devices for supplying cooling water and for removing heated water, a cooling water guide plate for the upper work roll arranged at an acute angle relative to the rolling stock surface and provided with a stripping member at the front of the guide plate facing the upper roll, and an essentially horizontally extending cooling water guide plate located closely underneath the rolling stock plane and provided with a stripping member for the lower roll. A cover plate is arranged in a sandwich-type configuration above the upper cooling water guide plate so as to form a liquid-conducting gap and the gap is connected at its end facing away from the roll with a cooling water suction device, and at least one suction pipe is arranged underneath the lower cooling water guide plate, wherein the suction pipe extends into the liquid-conducting corner area formed between the lower cooling water guide plate and the stripping member thereof and a surface portion of the lower roll, and wherein the suction pipe is connected to a cooling water suction device.

A rolling mill stand with work rolls which are supported in chocks, wherein the upper work roll can be raised from the lower work roll by balancing cylinders and wherein the upper work roll can be supported for a roll change on the balancing cylinders above the lower work roll in order to avoid contact of the bodies of the rolls. The chocks of one of the rolls include pivotable support levers which in a basic position thereof extend around sides of opposite chocks. The support levers can be pivoted into an effective position in which the free ends of the support levers rest on the bottom of grooves provided in the opposite chocks.
