A spindle apparatus is composed of a holding member to define a casing, a spindle shaft to support a rotor rotatably, a neck bearing disposed radially of the spindle shaft, a buffer disposed between the holding member and the neck bearing, an end bearing secured to the end of the holding member remote from the rotor, and a mechanism provided between the buffer and the end bearing for transmitting power from a source of power to the spindle shaft for rotating the shaft. This spindle, rotatable at a high speed without any substantial vibration or noise, is applicable to spinning machines, more particularly to an overhung rotor.

An active suspension apparatus detects a relative displacement (x) between an axle and a vehicle body, discriminates a road surface state in accordance with the relative displacement and a change rate (x) in unit time which is derived from the relative displacement (x), and optimally controls characteristics of damping forces of hydropneumatic suspensions in accordance with a discrimination result (i.e., a road surface state). The characteristics of the damping force of the hydropneumatic suspension are controlled by controlling the opening of throttle valves disposed between hydropneumatic chambers and actuators.

In a driving gear of a rotor type open end fine spinning machine, a rotation shaft of a spinning rotor and a drive shaft are connected through a speed multiplying mechanism, the spinning rotor facing to a fiber feed passage and a yarn taking passage is rotated at a multiplied speed by rotation driving of the drive shaft, a cover is installed to surround the spinning rotor and the rotation shaft thereof, an air passage is constituted so that air flow to guide fibers at the fiber feed passage into the spinning rotor passes through inside of the cover and is exhausted out of an exhaust port provided on the cover, and air flow passing through the air passage eliminates the friction heat caused by rotation of the spinning rotor.

A weft yarn storage unit disposed between a yarn supply package and a weft insertion device for storing a weft yarn to be inserted in the warp shed, comprises a differential yarn feeding device for feeding the weft yarn from the yarn supply package, and a yarn storage means for winding the fed weft yarn therearound by co-operating with the differential yarn feeding device, storing the wound weft yarn therearound and unwinding the stored weft yarn therefrom by co-operating with the weft insertion device, the yarn storage means being continuously rotating in a direction opposite to the direction in which the weft yarn is unwound at a predetermined circumferential speed in response to an insertion speed of the weft yarn. This weft yarn storage unit allows high-speed weft insertion while preventing the yarn breakage by reducing ballooning of the weft yarn when the weft yarn is released off the yarn storage drum.

The tire for automobiles being measured is loaded in advance by the load applying means and the drum is driven to rotate the tire. A displacement of the rotatable shaft produced in response to a variation in the radial force acting between the tire and the drum is detected as a displacement of the movable member. The movable member is movable with respect to the drum about a fulcrum which lies in or is located in the vicinity of a plane including a surface in which the drum and the tire are held against each other. Thus any influence by a moment due to a lateral force imposed on the tire can be eliminated, and the apparatus can measure a radial force variation with precision.

A novel fiber drafting system is disclosed, according to which fibers of sliver supplied continuously are passed through a first pair of rotatable cooperating rollers while being pressed and compacted into a reduced section by and between a space formed by a groove and a projection formed respectively in and on the circumferential peripheries of the rollers of said first pair. The automotive tire being measured is loaded in advance by the load applying means, and the drum is driven to rotate the tire. The present invention relates to a pneumatic twisting spinning apparatus comprising a drafting device for forming a fleece, a deflection roller, a pneumatic twisting nozzle for injecting air into a twisting tube to form a swirling air stream, so that the fleece can be twisted into a yarn, a take-up roller for withdrawing the yarn, and a winding roller. The deflection roller is disposed adjacent to the front roller, for varying the direction of fleece travel and supplying the fleece along an outer peripheral wall of said front roller, and separating ends of peripheral fibers from the fleece as free fibers, which will be twisted by the pneumatic twisting nozzle so as to be wound around central main fibers, thereby forming a bundled yarn.

A tripod type constant velocity universal joint comprises a driven part having an axis of rotation; a driving part having an axis of rotation; a spider member, integral with one of the parts, having three roller supporting rods extended radially from the concentrated portion thereof with an angle of 120 degrees formed therebetween; three roller elements respectively rotatably supported on the roller supporting rods and slidable along the axial directions of the roller supporting rods; and a pot member, integral with the other of the parts, defining three pairs of roller raceways. The tripod type constant velocity universal joint of the present invention decreases the quantities of nonconstant rotational velocity by decreasing the difference of the pitch radiuses of the portions at which two adjacent roller elements are respectively located between the pairs of roller raceways, and reduces the size and weight thereof.
