Stabilized peroxycarboxylic acid compositions are provided. The stable peroxycarboxylic acid compositions are particularly suitable for use in sanitizing equipment and surfaces to reduce yeasts, spores and bacteria, including those having contact with food, food products and/or components thereof, which require or benefit from infection control suitable for direct contact with such food sources are provided.

Peroxyformic acid compositions for treatment and removal of biofilm growth and mineral deposits on membranes for energy services applications are disclosed. In particular, peroxyformic acid compositions are generated in situ or on site generation for the reduction and prevention, of biofilms and the mitigation of mineral buildup on the membranes. The compositions according to the invention are compatible with the membranes under application of use conditions.

Peroxyformic acid compositions for membrane filtration cleaning in energy services

Peroxyhydroxycarboxylic acid forming compositions and methods for forming peroxyhydroxycarboxylic acids, preferably in situ, using the peroxyhydroxycarboxylic acid forming compositions are disclosed. Methods of using the peroxyhydroxycarboxylic acids, including for treating a surface or a target in need of antimicrobial or sanitizing treatment are also disclosed. Particular applications of using odor-free, low volatility peroxyhydroxycarboxylic acid sanitizers for direct food contact are disclosed.

Generation of peroxyhydroxycarboxylic acid and the use thereof

A concentrated liquid sanitizing and rinse composition containing peroxycarboxylic acid(s) and compatible rinse aid surfactants is disclosed. The sanitizing and rinsing compositions are formulated in a single liquid concentrate, replacing a traditional dual product of a sanitizer and rinse aid. The sanitizing and rinsing chemistries are particularly effective at neutral pHs against gram negative organisms at elevated temperatures. Methods of using the concentrated liquid sanitizing and rinse composition are also disclosed.

Virucidal compositions including at least one acid and an alpha olefin sulfonate anionic surfactant are provided. In particular, virucidal efficacy against Murine Norovirus is provided at improved efficacy rates beyond comparative anionic surfactants. Methods of using a virucidal composition are also provided.

A disinfectant wipe is provided including a substrate that is substantially free of polyamides, and an acid anionic disinfectant is adsorbed to the substrate such that the disinfectant readily releases from the substrate to allow at least 65% delivery of the disinfectant when wiped on a surface. The substrate may be a woven, nonwoven, knit fabric, a foam, sponge or film composition and may be formed from polyester, polypropylene, nylon, cotton, rayon, acrylic, or combinations thereof. The acid anionic disinfectant has a pH below 7, below 5, below 3 and below 2. The substrate used to prepare the disinfectant wipe is not pretreated with the disinfectant or a release composition before applying the disinfectant. That is, the disinfectant is not applied and re-applied to ensure release onto a surface. In an embodiment of the invention acid anionic disinfectant is an antimicrobial agent.

In particular, peroxyformic acid compositions may be dosed on site and/or generated in situ for the reduction and prevention of biofilms on the hard surfaces. Methods of employing the peroxyformic acid compositions for removal of biofilm growth and other impurities such as aldehydes and alcohols from industrial COeffluent are also disclosed which beneficially provide ambient biofilm control and break down more rapidly than other peracids, allowing for extended runs between CIP cleaning, including a reduction and/or elimination of cleaning of the scrubbers and other industrial surfaces.

Performic acid biofilm prevention for industrial COscrubbers

Methods of generating performic acid by contacting aqueous oxidizing agent and aqueous formic acid source in liquid phase are disclosed. A system and apparatus for the in situ production of the performic acid chemistries is further disclosed. In particular, a continuous flow reactor is provided to generate performic acid at variable rates. Methods of employing the oxidizing biocide for various disinfection applications are also disclosed.

Solid peroxyalphahydroxycarboxylic acid generation compositions and the use thereof

A composition, method and kit for quantifying the concentration of one peracid or the total concentration of two or more peracids in a water source are disclosed. In particular, an oxidation sensitive or peroxycarboxylic acid selective leuco dye is used to react only with one or more peroxycarboxylic acids in a water source but not with peroxide usually co-existing in the water source. Not only does the oxidation sensitive or peroxycarboxylic acid selective leuco dye react with peracid(s) but also the reaction generates a color species that can be used visually or through absorbance measurement to quantify the peracid concentration. The method disclosed here is not a titration method, it involves a simple mixing step. The kit or composition disclosed here does not utilize a catalyst, such as iodine.

Colorimetric detection and quantitative estimation of peracids using a redox sensitive leuco dye

The present disclosure relates to rheology modified, low foaming aqueous antimicrobial compositions. The compositions are phase stable under acidic conditions, and do not need to be rinsed from the surface to which they are applied. The present disclosure further relates to methods of use thereof.

Rheology modified low foaming liquid antimicrobial compositions and methods of use thereof

Stabilized peroxide-containing compositions stabilized with urea and urea/chelator stabilizer blends are provided. The compositions are particularly suitable for, but not limited to, cleaning applications on surfaces within food and beverage industries which may require the use of materials that are acceptable for incidental food/food products/feed contact. The present invention relates to novel sulfoperoxycarboxylic acid compounds, and methods for making and using them. The sulfoperoxycarboxylic compounds of the invention are storage stable, water soluble and have low to no odor. Further, the compounds of the present invention can be formed from non-petroleum based renewable materials. The compounds of the present invention can be used as antimicrobials, and bleaching agents. The compounds of the present invention are also suitable for use as coupling agents.
