Provided are a device control method, a non-transitory computer-readable storage medium and an electronic device. In the method, when the electronic device is connected to a first Wi-Fi network using a first Wi-Fi module, an operating frequency and corresponding frequency band type associated with every accessible access point for a second Wi-Fi network are acquired. When the accessible access points for the second Wi-Fi network have different frequency band types, a distance between each accessible access point for the second Wi-Fi network and the electronic device is acquired, and a target access point is determined according to each distance and the operating frequency of each accessible access point. The electronic device is also connected to the target access point using the second Wi-Fi module while the electronic device is connected to the first Wi-Fi network.
