A motor-operated compressor includes a casing having an inner space in which a driving motor, an orbiting scroll and a fixed scroll are accommodated, and a controller provided outside the casing. The casing includes an intake hole formed at a side adjacent to the controller and an exhaust hole formed at a side adjacent to the fixed scroll on the basis of the driving motor. The casing includes a communication passage formed between the casing and a stator of the driving motor, such that a refrigerant introduced into the inner space through the intake hole is introduced into the suction chamber through the driving motor. A back pressure space supporting the orbiting scroll is sealed by oil. The stator has teeth on its inner circumferential surface and protrusions on its outer circumferential surface, each protrusion being located within a width range of each tooth.

A safety device for a vehicle can include an impulse sensor configured to sense an impact to the vehicle and generate an impulse signal based on the impact, a compressor configured to compress refrigerant for a refrigeration cycle of the vehicle, and a safety valve connected to the compressor and configured to receive the impulse signal from the impulse sensor, and in response to the impulse signal exceeding a predetermined value, open the safety valve to place an inner space of the compressor in communication with an outside of the compressor for discharging the refrigerant outside the vehicle.

The charging apparatus includes a converter for, in a charging mode, converting an input alternating current (AC) voltage into a direct current (DC) voltage and a controller for controlling the converter. The converter includes a motor and a switching unit that is connected to an additional coil wound on a stator of one phase of the motor, and that supplies the input AC voltage to the motor by performing a switching operation. The converter also includes an inverter that, in a motor operation mode, converts a DC voltage from a battery into an AC voltage by a switching operation and drives the motor. In the charging mode, the inverter converts the input AC voltage into the DC voltage using the additional coil of the motor and the switching unit and supplies the DC voltage to the battery.

A charging apparatus and an electric vehicle including the same are disclosed. The charging apparatus includes a converter for, in a charging mode, converting an input alternating current (AC) voltage into a direct current (DC) voltage, and a controller for controlling the converter. The converter includes a motor, and a switching unit for supplying the input AC voltage to the motor by performing a switching operation. The converter also includes an inverter for, in a motor operation mode, converting a DC voltage from a battery into an AC voltage by performing a switching operation of three-phase switching elements and driving the motor. In the charging mode, the inverter operates switching elements of at least one phase of the three-phase switching elements and converts the voltage received from the motor into a predetermined DC voltage.

A stator of an electric machine of the power saving interval may include a stator core having a plurality of slots, and a stator winding wound around the slot, wherein the stator winding has a plurality of winding portions connected in parallel with one another for each phase, and each of the winding portions has a segment conductor inserted into three or more slots for each pole. An apparatus controlling an electric vehicle motor and a method to reduce torque ripple using the same are provided. A field current flowing in a rotor field coil is controlled by generating a negative phase ripple current with respect to torque ripple according to each position of the rotor, allowing torque ripple of the motor to be reduced without degrading output torque. Additionally, in an operation region of a high torque section, torque ripple is reduced by controlling a field current by increasing an AC component of a negative phase ripple current, and in an operation region of a low torque section, torque ripple is reduced by controlling a field current by decreasing an AC component of a negative phase ripple current. That is, torque ripple of a motor can be reduced by controlling only a field current.

An apparatus for driving a motor of an electric vehicle is provided. The apparatus includes a capacitor supplied with power by a battery; an inverter configured to include a plurality of switching elements, convert direct current (DC) power stored in the capacitor into alternating current (AC) power in accordance with the switching of the switching elements and drive a motor with the AC power; and a capacitor protector provided between the battery and the capacitor and configured to consume initial power supplied by the battery at an early stage of the supply of power by the battery, the capacitor protector including a common resistor that consumes the DC power stored in the capacitor when the capacitor is discharged. Therefore, it is possible to guarantee the reliability of the apparatus.
