In a battery module, end plates disposed at both ends of battery stack are connected by binding bars. Electrode terminals of respective battery cells and voltage detection circuit of electronic circuit block are connected by a plurality of voltage detection lines. Electronic circuit block is disposed on an outer surface of end plate and fixes one connector formed by linearly disposing a plurality of connecting terminals to which voltage detection lines are connected to circuit board on which voltage detection circuit is mounted. Voltage detection circuit is provided with a plurality of input terminals arranged in a linear manner. In circuit board, connecting terminal and input terminal disposed at opposite positions are connected by a plurality of connection lines. A cell voltage of each battery cell is input from connection line to adjacent input terminals.

Battery module, and electric vehicle and power storage device equipped with battery module

A temperature detection circuit is provided with a temperature measuring circuit, a computing circuit, a temperature monitoring circuit, and a diagnostic signal generation circuit. The temperature measuring circuit outputs, to a measurement node, a temperature measurement voltage corresponding to a temperature. The computing circuit, calculates the temperature on the basis of the temperature measurement voltage. In the cases where the temperature measurement voltage is within a predetermined abnormal voltage range, the temperature monitoring circuit validates an abnormality detection signal indicating a temperature abnormality. When fault diagnosis of the temperature monitoring circuit is carried out, the diagnostic signal generation circuit supplies a diagnostic signal to the measurement node, and changes the temperature measurement voltage.

Temperature detection circuit

A management device manages an electricity storage module having: a first cell module and a second cell module each including a plurality of cells connected in series; and a conductive connection member for connecting the first cell module and the second cell module in series. A voltage detection circuit is connected to the nodes of the respective cells through voltage detection lines to detect the voltage of each of the cells and the voltage at both ends of the connection member. A control circuit distinguishes between and recognizes the voltage of each of the cells and the voltage at both ends of the connection member, which are detected by the voltage detection circuit.

Management device and power supply system for improved cell voltage detection accuracy

A voltage detection circuit detects the voltage of a plurality of serially connected cells in a power storage unit. The voltage detection circuit receives a supply of a power supply voltage from both ends of the plurality of cells. A DC-DC converter converts the voltage between both ends of the plurality of cells into another DC voltage. An adjustment circuit adjusts the power consumption of the plurality of cells. The adjustment circuit operates using the DC voltage generated by the DC-DC converter as the power supply voltage.

Power storage unit and power storage system

A power supply device includes functional modules, and a main controller that is connected to and controls the modules. Each module includes a battery block, a communication interface, a memory and a battery state detector. The block includes a battery cells that are connected in serial and/or in parallel to each other. The interface exchanges data with other modules or the controllers. The memory can store data exchanged through the interface. The battery state detector can detect at least one of current, voltage and temperature of the block. When the module is connected to the controller, the controller assigns a unique address to the module. The module stores the unique address, which is assigned by the controller, in the memory. The module exchanges data based on the address.

Power supply device and vehicle using the same

The power source apparatus is provided with a plurality of modules (), and a main controller () connected with communication interface units () in each module via a communication line CB. Each module is provided with a battery block () having a plurality of battery cells () stacked together and connected in series and/or parallel, a battery state detection section () to detect the state of the battery cells, communication interface units for data communication with other modules and the main controller, and a memory section () that can store data received through the communication interface units. When remaining capacity estimated by a calculator is higher than a control upper limit, a charge-disabled mode is selected in which charging operation is disabled. When remaining capacity is lower than a control lower limit, a discharge-disabled mode is selected in which discharging operation is disabled. When remaining capacity is higher than an upper limit of a given range having its center at a target value specified between the control upper and lower limits, an allowance mode is selected in which charging/discharging current limits are adjusted to allow a discharging amount to exceed a charging amount in a predetermined period. When remaining capacity is not higher than the upper limit of the range, a restriction mode is selected in which charging/discharging currents are restricted so that the remaining capacity is held within the range.

A battery pack having a plurality of battery cells () connected in series and/or parallel. The battery pack is provided with a plurality of battery cells (), each encased in a rectangular external case, and a plurality of separators () with electrical and heat insulating properties covering the outside of each battery cell external case excluding electrode terminals (). Each separator () is disposed so as to intervene between adjacent battery cells () putting the external cases of those battery cells () in contact with both sides of the separator (). With the external case of each battery cell () covered by separators () while exposing electrode terminals (), the electrode terminals () are connected together. As a result, excluding required regions, the battery cells () can be enclosed and unintended events such as short circuits can be effectively prevented.

A car power source apparatus includes a battery array that has a plurality of battery units connected in series, a battery over-charge and over-discharge detection circuit, selection switches that sequentially input battery unit voltages to the over-charge and over-discharge detection circuit, a reference voltage circuit that inputs reference voltages to the over-charge and over-discharge detection circuit, and a control circuit that controls selection switches and the reference voltage circuit. The control circuit controls the selection switches to input battery unit voltages to the over-charge and over-discharge detection circuit to determine over-charge and over-discharge. Further, the control circuit controls selection switches not to input battery unit voltages to the over-charge and over-discharge detection circuit, but controls input of reference voltages to the over-charge and over-discharge detection circuit from the reference voltage circuit to confirm the operating condition of the over-charge and over-discharge detection circuit.

Car power source apparatus having an over-charge and over-discharge protection circuit with automatic self-test function

The car power source apparatus switches a pair of contactors (driving battery relays) connected to positive and negative output sides of a driving battery via a switching circuit with an auxiliary battery as power supply. The switching circuit is provided with a voltage detection circuit to detect auxiliary battery voltage, a series switching circuit to connect coils of the pair of contactors in series and switch both contactor contacts on, and a parallel switching circuit to connect coils of the pair of contactors in parallel and switch both contactor contacts on. When auxiliary battery voltage is higher than a set voltage, it connects the pair of contactor coils in series to switch the contacts on via the series switching circuit, and when auxiliary battery voltage is lower than a set voltage, it connects the pair of contactor coils in parallel to switch the contacts on via the parallel switching circuit.
