A housing of a connector includes a body and a guiding structure. The body has a first end and a second end opposite the first end in a length direction. The guiding structure has a guiding groove at the first end of the body and extending perpendicular to the body and a guiding post at the second end of the body. The guiding groove is complementary to the guiding post and has a shape corresponding to and shaped to receive the guiding post.

Connector and connector assembly

An electric connector assembly includes an insulating housing, a plurality of rows of contact terminals disposed in the insulating housing and including a plurality of signal terminals and a plurality of ground terminals, and a conductive shell assembled on the insulating housing. The conductive shell contacts and is connected with the ground terminals to electrically connect the ground terminals together.

Electric connector assembly

A connector comprises a housing and a plurality of contacts retained in the housing. Each of the contacts extends in a longitudinal direction and has a retained portion, a contacting portion disposed in front of the retained portion in the longitudinal direction, and a connecting portion disposed behind the retained portion in the longitudinal direction. Each of the contacting portion and the connecting portion are shifted with respect to the retained portion in a vertical direction perpendicular to the longitudinal direction. The housing is in contact with the retained portion of each of the contacts from both above and below in the vertical direction and from both right and left in a lateral direction perpendicular to the vertical direction and the longitudinal direction.

Connector with a contact retained in a housing

A connector includes a housing and a contact elongated in a frontward and rearward direction. The contact has a fixed portion fixed to the housing in a middle in the frontward and rearward direction, a first contact portion formed in a front end portion for coming into contact with a first circuit board, a second contact portion formed in a rear end portion for coming into contact with a second circuit board, and a deflective portion formed between the fixed portion and the second contact portion. The deflective portion is adapted to deflect when the second contact portion receives a force from the second circuit board.

Connector

A socket connector assembly for a communication system includes a socket connector having a socket housing holding socket contacts having deflectable spring beams. The socket connector assembly includes a cable assembly coupled to the socket connector having an outer housing holding a paddle card with paddle card contacts interfacing with the separable mating interfaces of the socket contacts. The cable assembly includes cables terminated to the paddle card coupled to corresponding paddle card contacts. The socket connector assembly includes a spring plate coupled to the outer housing secured to the host circuit board to press the cable assembly downward toward the host circuit board to compress the deflectable spring beams of the socket contacts.

Socket connector and cable assembly for a communication system

A card connector is provided having a housing and a contact. The housing includes a card receiving space. The contact is supported by the housing and includes a contact arm and an extended portion. The contact arm includes a free end and the extended portion includes a first end positioned below the contact arm on which the free end of the contact arm slides.

Card connector and contact with buckling prevention

A card connector is disclosed having a housing. An eject lever extends transversely to a card inserting direction, and has a first end, a second end, and a central portion pivotally mounted to the housing to pivot when a card is inserted into the card connector or ejected therefrom. A slider extends along the inserting direction and is in contact with the first end of the eject lever. The slider is pushed in the ejection direction by the eject lever when a card is inserted and pushes the first end of the eject lever in the inserting direction to pivot the second end of the eject lever in the ejecting direction to eject the card. A friction member is in direct contact with the eject lever throughout the pivotable range of the eject lever.

Card connector

A card connector having a housing with a card insertion end, an opposing distal end, and a base. The card connector has a shell positioned on the housing. A card insertion space and a card ejection mechanism receiving space are both positioned between the housing and the shell. The card connector has a card ejection mechanism disposed in the card ejection mechanism receiving space. The card ejection mechanism includes a sliding member, a spring biasing the sliding member in a card-ejecting direction, a lock for locking the sliding member at a locking position; and a sliding member guide. The sliding member guide includes a first guiding member disposed on an interior surface of the base and engageable with a card insertion end of the sliding member; and a second guiding member disposed on an interior surface of the shell and engageable with a distal end of the sliding member.

A card connector with a card insertion detection mechanism has a first movable terminal, and a second movable terminal. An abutting portion located on the first movable terminal is engageable with a card upon insertion to displace the first movable terminal from the second moveable terminal, and is disengageable from the card upon removal. A cam portion of the first movable terminal is positioned to contact the second movable terminal, and wipe with the second movable terminal.

A card connector for receiving a card is provided. The card connector includes a housing a plurality of contacts, a slider and a stopper. The housing includes a front wall, a rear wall, and a card receiving passageway formed therein. The contacts are secured in the housing. The slider is positioned and slidable between the front wall and the rear wall. The stopper is supported by the slider and includes end sections positioned adjacent to the slider, such that a space is provided between one of the end sections and the slider.

A detection switch for detecting when a card is inserted in to a connector. The detection switch includes a housing, a shell, a card receiving passageway, and a detection switch. The shell is disposed on and covers the housing. The card receiving passageway is arranged between the housing and the shell. The detection switch detects when the card is inserted into the card receiving passageway and disposed along a side of the card connector. The detection switch includes a fixed contact secured to the housing, and a movable contact extending from the shell and configured to (1) contact the fixed contact when the card is not inserted in the card receiving passageway and (2) release from contact with the fixed contact when the card is inserted into the card receiving passageway.

Detection switch structure and connector having the same

A surface mount electrical connector for mounting to a substrate comprising a housing and a contact carried by the housing, the contact comprising a retention section held by the housing and a tine configured for mounting to a surface of the substrate wherein the tine extends from the retention section and wherein the tine lies inside an outer contour line of the housing is disclosed. A method of connecting a surface mount electrical connector to a substrate comprising the steps of providing a housing carrying a contact, the contact having a tine within a projected footprint of the housing on the substrate, attaching the housing to the substrate, inserting a jig into an opening of the housing, and bending the tine toward the substrate is disclosed.

Surface mount electrical connector

A card connector, comprising a housing having a card insertion slot, a contact carried by the housing, a slider carried by the housing and disposed substantially coplanar with the card insertion slot, the slider comprising a cam groove and a lock spring disposed substantially adjacent the lock spring, and a positioning member carried by the housing and being movable within the cam groove is disclosed.
