Provided is a method of manufacturing an electric wire with terminal formed by connecting a first core exposed portion of an electric wire to a metal terminal having a box portion that is formed by processing a single conductive board into a box shape and has an opening in which a counterpart terminal is inserted, and a spring inside the box portion. After laser-welding opposed portions where parts of the single conductive board forming the box portion are opposed to each other, applying ultrasonic vibration to a second core exposed portion of the electric wire is executed.

In a terminal-attached electric wire applied to a wire harness, a metal terminal includes: an electric wire connection portion to which the electric wire is connected; a box-shaped portion that is formed into a box shape by a bottom body coupled to the electric wire connection portion and a pair of wall bodies formed by protruding individually from both ends of the bottom body in a width direction, and enables a counterpart terminal to be inserted into a terminal insertion space portion in an inside thereof along an axial direction intersecting the width direction; and a spring contact portion that is located inside the terminal insertion space portion, is elastically deformably supported in the box-shaped portion in a cantilever manner, and forms a contact with the counterpart terminal, and wherein the box-shaped portion has a displacement regulating portion that regulates a relative displacement between the pair of the wall bodies.

An electric wire with a terminal includes: an electric wire including a conductor portion having conductivity and an insulator portion which covers the outside of the conductor portion and has a cut away or tapered portion at its leading face; a terminal connection portion electrically connected to a counterpart terminal; a conductor crimp portion crimped to the conductor portion; and a sheath crimp portion separated from the conductor crimp portion and crimped to the insulator portion. The sheath crimp portion includes a second base portion on which the insulator portion is mounted and a second barrel piece portion crimped with the insulator portion wrapped. The wire connection portion may integrally cover a core wire and a covering of the wire by being crimped onto the wire.

A terminal crimping apparatus includes a terminal supply device configured to supply a terminal chain member including a plurality of crimping terminals, a first mold including a first edge portion provided at one end of a supporting surface supporting the crimping terminals, a second mold configured to crimp the crimping terminal onto a wire by sandwiching the crimping terminal between the second mold and the supporting surface, and a terminal cutting member including a second edge portion. A terminal-equipped electrical wire includes a water-blocking material disposed between an inner side surface of an electrical wire connecting portion and a core wire to cover a distal end of the core wire, and the electrical wire connecting portion includes a bottom portion, a first crimping piece wrapped around the electrical wire, a second crimping piece wrapped around an outer side of the first crimping piece, and a plate-shaped protruding piece protruding from a side surface of the first crimping piece or the second crimping piece in an axial direction of the electrical wire, and the protruding piece is bent from a proximal end portion such that the protruding piece is closer to the distal end of the core wire toward a distal end side from a proximal end side of the protruding piece, and blocks at least a part of an opening of the electrical wire connecting portion.

Terminal-equipped electrical wire

A crimp terminal includes a terminal connecting portion, an electric wire connecting portion, and a coupling portion. The electric wire connecting portion is formed with a first barrel piece and a second barrel piece, the two facing each other, by bending processing on an electric wire side plate-shaped portion after two facing walls are formed by bending processing on a terminal side plate-shaped portion. The coupling portion is formed with two facing side walls by bending processing on a coupling side plate-shaped portion. Certain portions that will be the side walls later are formed with at least one tensile force absorbing portion that absorbs a tensile force between the terminal side plate-shaped portion side and the electric wire side plate-shaped portion side occurring during the bending processing on the terminal side plate-shaped portion.

Crimp terminal

A terminal fitting includes a terminal connecting portion and an electric wire connecting portion. A water stop member is affixed to an inner wall surface of the electric wire connecting portion before crimping process and suppresses entering of water between the electric wire connecting portion and a core wire of the electric wire after the crimping. The electric wire connecting portion is formed into a U-shape by raising the first barrel piece and the second barrel piece from both ends of the bottom. The distal end of the first barrel piece is bent toward the second barrel piece, to form a gap between a slide contact surface on a descending second die and the distal end of the first barrel piece.

Crimp terminal and terminal crimping device

A connector includes a connector housing, a plurality of terminals including foot portions extending to the outside of the connector housing, and a position aligning plate including a plurality of terminal insertion holes, the foot portions of the terminals being configured to be inserted into the terminal insertion holes so that the foot portions align with corresponding through holes of a circuit board. The foot portions of the terminals are configured to be soldered with the circuit board by a reflow system using hot air as a hearing source. A vent hole is provided in the position aligning plate to introduce the hot air to soldering parts through the vent hole.

Connector

A connector includes a connector housing provided with multiple terminal housing chambers. The multiple terminal housing chambers are separated by top walls, bottom walls, and side walls. Lances are supported by the bottom walls of the terminal housing chambers, which are located on the same surface side. Each of the bottom walls includes a cutout portion which avoids interference with the lance when the lance bends in a direction to retreat from the terminal housing chamber. Each lance bends in the direction to retreat from the terminal housing chamber when a terminal is inserted into the terminal housing chamber. When the terminal is fully inserted into a regular insertion position, each lance recovers from flexural deformation and is locked to the terminal.
