In an in-vehicle target detecting device, a captured image which is an image capturing an area ahead of the own vehicle is acquired at a predetermined measurement cycle. Radio waves are transmitted and received. Positional information indicating at least an orientation and a distance of at least one target candidate in relation to the own vehicle is acquired. The target candidate reflects radio waves. Image recognition is performed to detect a detection object by searching a predetermined image search area in the captured image. At least an image detection position of the detection object in the captured image is stored. The image search area is set, based on an image-plane measurement position corresponding to a measurement position in the captured image. The measurement position is a position in three-dimensional space of the target candidate indicated by the positional information acquired at a timing at which the captured image is acquired.

In-vehicle target detecting device

A current sensor includes: a magneto electric conversion element; and a magnetic field concentrating core applying a magnetic field caused by a measurement object current to the magneto electric conversion element. A planar shape of the magnetic field concentrating core perpendicular to a current flowing direction is a ring shape with a gap. The magneto electric conversion element is arranged in the gap. A part of a conductor for flowing the current is surrounded by the magnetic field concentrating core. The magnetic field concentrating core includes two first magnetic members and at least one second magnetic member, which are stacked alternately in the current flowing direction. Parts of the two first magnetic members adjacent to each other via the one second magnetic member are opposed to each other through a clearance or an insulator.

An inattentive state determination apparatus being placed in a vehicle includes an image taking section, an orientation detection section, a determination section, a warning section, a shape detection section, and a setting section. The image taking section successively takes images of a face of a determination target. Based on the images, the orientation detection section and the shape detection section detect a determination target orientation and a hand shape, respectively. The determination section determines whether the determination target is in an inattentive state based on the determination target orientation by determining an inattentive state determination condition. The warning section notifies the inattentive state by outputting an audio warning corresponding to a parameter of the audio warning. The setting section sets at least one of the inattentive state determination condition and the parameter of the audio warning based on the hand shape and the determination target orientation.

A gaze detection apparatus is disclosed. The gaze detection apparatus includes: a gaze detection section that detects gaze of a target person; a display section that includes a display screen for displaying an image; a gaze position determination section that determines, based on a result of detection by the gaze detection section, whether or not the display screen lies in the gaze of the target person; and a first display control section that displays a first detection result image at an intersection point between the gaze of the target person and the display screen when the first gaze position determination section determines that the display screen lies in the gaze of the target person.

Gaze detection apparatus and method

A pupil detecting apparatus detects an edge of a pupil in an image of a face. An outline of an upper eyelid is also detected. The apparatus selects an effective edge extending along the pupil by removing a part of edge extending along the upper eyelid from the edges detected. Then, the apparatus applies the circle Hough transformation to the effective edge in order to obtain a center of the pupil and a radius of the pupil. Thereby, it is possible to detect the pupil accurately even if a part of the pupil is covered.

An apparatus for detecting a gaze direction of a driver is mounted on an automotive vehicle. An image of the driver's face on which infrared rays are incident is reflected on a windshield, and the reflected image is fed into a camera. An outside view entering through the windshield may be subtracted from the image of the driver's face taken into the camera to obtain a clearer image of the driver's face. A gaze direction of the driver is detected by a known method (refer to the Specification) based on the image taken by the camera. A mirror for further reflecting the image reflected on the windshield may be added to the apparatus to position the camera freely in the vehicle. A band-pass filter for allowing only the infrared rays to pass through may be disposed before the camera to suppress an image of outside view entering through the windshield. The gaze direction of the driver is correctly detected without placing the camera in a direct front of the driver.

Apparatus for detecting feature of driver's face

In a body position detecting apparatus, a controller repeatedly acquires image data that includes an object and an operator in a place where the operator is capable of operating the object. When the controller detects that the operator is in an operating position where the operator operates the object, the controller detects a position of a body part of the operator in the image data and the controller sets the position of the body part to an initial position. The controller detects a position of the body part of the operator in the image data that is acquired after the initial position is set, by detecting a displacement from a position of the body part detected last time and accumulating the displacement to the initial position.

A face tracking device for tracking an orientation of a person's face with using a cylindrical head model, the face tracking device comprises: an image means for continuously shooting the person's face and for obtaining a first image data based on a shot of the person's face; an extraction means for extracting a second image data from the first image data, the second image data corresponding to a facial area of the person's face; a determination means for determining whether the second image is usable as an initial value required for the cylindrical head model; and a face orientation detection means for detecting the orientation of the person's face with using the cylindrical head model and with using the initial value determined to be usable by the determination means.

Face tracking device

A vehicle information display system includes a head-up display for reflecting an image on a windshield of a vehicle and displaying the image so that a driver recognizes the image as a virtual image. Information is collected for being displayed by the head-up display. A circumstance of the vehicle, a circumstance of surrounding of the vehicle, or a circumstance of the driver is detected. The collected information is classified in accordance with a detection result. Then, display contents of the head-up display are controlled in accordance with a classification result.
