A loop-type flash drying apparatus configured to dry an object to be treated with a gas by supplying the object into a gas stream circulating in a loop-type drying pipe, wherein the loop-type flash drying apparatus includes: (i) a loop-type drying pipe; (ii) a feeding port configured to feed an object to be treated into the drying pipe; (iii) a second blowing port configured to blow a gas into the drying pipe; (iv) a discharge port configured to discharge the object from the drying pipe; (v) a discharge region formed by the drying pipe and the discharge port; and (vi) a first blowing port through which a gas for accelerating a gas flowing in the discharge region is linearly blown toward the discharge region.

A toner comprising a toner particle that contains a binder resin and a wax, wherein the toner particle contains an organosilicon polymer as given by formula (1) below;R&#x2014;SiO&#x2003;&#x2003;(1),in formula (1), Ris an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbons; in a cross section of the toner particle observed using a transmission electron microscope, in terms of a distance A from the centroid of the cross section of the toner particle to a contour of the cross section, the organosilicon polymer is present in a region that is not more than 80% of the distance A from the centroid; and an absolute value of a difference between an SP value of the organosilicon polymer and an SP value of the wax is not more than 0.70 (cal/cm).

A toner which includes a binder resin, a colorant and a hydrocarbon wax has a ratio W1/W2 of the half width W1 (&#xb0; C.) of a endothermic peak derived from melting of the hydrocarbon wax in a first temperature rise process on the toner to the half width W2 (&#xb0; C.) of a endothermic peak derived from melting of the hydrocarbon wax in a second temperature rise process, as measured with a differential scanning calorimeter, with the ratio W1/W2 being not less than 0.50 and not more than 0.90.

Toner and toner production method

A method for producing toner particles by a suspension polymerization method or a dissolution suspension method comprising: applying an inorganic dispersion stabilizer-containing liquid (liquid A) to a part that can come into contact with a polymerizable monomer composition or toner particle composition, the part being on an inner wall of a vessel used in a polymerization step or a vessel used in a solvent removal step; after the application of the liquid A, carrying out the polymerization step or solvent removal step; discharging the contents of the vessel after the completion of this polymerization step or solvent removal step; and after the contents of the vessel have been discharged, bringing an acidic aqueous solution (liquid B) to dissolve the inorganic dispersion stabilizer into contact with the inner wall of the vessel.
