The invention provides an electrical connector assembly that is constituted by a first connector and a second connector, each of the first and second connectors having signal contacts disposed in two rows, a grounding member disposed between the rows of signal contacts and a housing that holds the signal contacts and the grounding member and being engaged with each other, and an electrical connector that constitutes the electrical connector assembly. The electrical connector and electrical connector assembly increase the reliability of a grounding path, require only a small number of component parts and are suitable for high-speed signal transmission. A first grounding plate and a second grounding plate that constitute the grounding member are disposed in the immediate vicinity of rows of signal contacts that are disposed in two rows and the housing has a through opening. Therefore, a connection section that constitutes the grounding member can be visually checked.

Electrical connector and electrical connector assembly

A card connector assembly is capable of preventing extraction of cards of varying dimensions and shapes. The card connector assembly is constructed of a connector and a box for housing the connector. A first plate that moves horizontally by operation of a slider, first and second cam protrusions that cam engage the first plate, and a second plate positioned above the first plate are provided in the box. When the slider is moved rightward, the first plate engages the second cam protrusions and rises, to press the second plate upward. An elastic rubber piece is adhesively attached to the second plate. The elastic rubber piece frictionally contacts a lower main surface of a card to prevent extraction thereof.

Card connector assembly

A connector is provided to reduce the risk of erroneous ejection of a card from a card connector during use thereof. A stopper member is rotatably mounted on a knob of an ejecting mechanism. The stopper member is urged in the counterclockwise direction by a spring. When the knob protrudes in a state in which the card is not inserted in the connector, the stopper member, urged by the spring, exits a slot of the knob, rotates about a pin, and a rear end of the stopper member enters a card receiving slot. Accordingly, a card cannot be inserted into the card receiving slotdue to the protrusion of the stopper member into the card receiving slot.

Card connector

The present invention relates to a BGA package IC socket that accommodates a BGA (ball grid array) package such that the BGA package IC socket has high reliability and can withstand long-term use. The socket is equipped with package receiving members . Package receiving parts of members receive the portions of the BGA package located in the vicinity of the opposite edges of the undersurface of the BGA package . The parts pivot downward with the insertion of the BGA package . The parts have a shaft which are supported on the housing so that the package receiving members are free to pivot. Springs cooperate with the members , such that the springs resist the insertion of the BGA package into the socket.
