A display device includes a connection port, a determination circuit, a processor, and a tips circuit. In response to the connection port being connected to a transmission line, the determination circuit provides a first status signal, determines a power supply type of the transmission line, and provides a power supply type status value according to the power supply type. The processor reads the power supply type status value according to the first status signal, determines whether the power supply type meets an expected power supply type according to the power supply type status value, and provides a power supply type tips signal in response to the power supply type not meeting the expected power supply type. The tips circuit controls the display device to display a power supply type prompt image in response to the power supply type tips signal. An operating method for a display device is also disclosed.

A display system and an operation method for the display system are provided. The display system includes a first display and a second display. The first display includes a first input port and a first output port. The second display includes a second output port, a detection circuit, a processor, and a connection prompt circuit. The detection circuit drives the second output port in response to the driving signal. The processor receives the detection signal on the second output port, and determines a connection state of the second output port according to a level of the detection signal. The connection prompt circuit controls the second display to output a connection prompt image according to the connection state.

A display device includes an input port, an output port, a data port, a detection circuit, a processor, and a connection tips circuit. The detection circuit generates a first state value according to a connection state of the input port, and generates a second state value according to a connection state of the output port. A video transmission method and a display are provided. In the method, a first bandwidth of a video stream inputted into a display is detected. The display includes a scaling controller and a timing controller. The first bandwidth is compared with a second bandwidth used by the scaling controller and the timing controller to obtain a comparison result between the first bandwidth and the second bandwidth. The second bandwidth is changed to a third bandwidth according to the comparison result. The third bandwidth is used for a transmission of the video stream. In particular, a peak current value of the compensation dimming signal is less than a peak current value of the main dimming signal.

The control circuit is coupled to the liquid crystal display panel and the backlight module. The control circuit is configured to control the liquid crystal display panel to display a corresponding image according to image data, and control the backlight module to provide backlight to the liquid crystal display panel. The control circuit determines a turn-on time point of each of a plurality of zones of the backlight module according to a response time of the liquid crystal display panel and a writing period of at least one target display area of the liquid crystal display panel. The control circuit further determines the turn-on time length of each zone according to the image data corresponding to the grayscale data of each zone.

A power management method a display device utilizes the same are disclosed. The power management method, adopted by the display device, includes: increasing, by a control circuit, brightness of a lighting device, wherein the lighting device is configured to illuminate a display panel device; detecting, by an overload detection circuit, whether an overload has been triggered by the increased brightness; and when the overload has been triggered by the increased brightness, recording, by a power capacity determination circuit, a maximal predetermined brightness that is used prior to the overload is triggered, while showing an on-screen-display (OSD) warning message on a display of the display device for reminding the user. When the brightness of the lighting device reaches the maximal predetermined brightness and the power capacity determination circuit detects no overload, this indicates the power capacity is sufficient for supplying power to the display device.
