Apparatuses, systems, and methods for a wireless device to perform a method including a user equipment device (UE) exchanging communications with a base station to determine one or more scheduling profiles, such as one or more scheduling-power profiles, where a scheduling-power profile may specify one or more parameters associated with UE communication behavior, e.g., one or more constraints on UE communication behavior and/or slot scheduling of UE communications. In addition, the method may include the UE receiving a slot configuration schedule from the base station. The slot configuration schedule may be based on at least one scheduling-power profile of the one or more scheduling-power profiles. Further, the method may include the UE performing communications with the base station based on the at least one scheduling-power profile.

The base station may configure a first BWP at a baseband frequency associated with the CDRX communication session as a default BWP, a second BWP with a wider bandwidth than the first BWP as a transmission BWP, and one or more third BWPs as resting BWPs. The transmission BWP and the one or more resting BWPs may be configured to periodically override the default BWP as the active BWP for a predetermined number of CDRX cycles. The transmission BWP may be utilized, when activated to perform data transmission by UE device, and the one or more resting BWPs may be utilized, when activated, for performing channel measurements.

This disclosure relates to performing cellular communication using a control information monitoring framework. A wireless device may monitor a control channel for control information according to a first periodic pattern. According to the first periodic pattern, the wireless device may monitor the control channel in a specified slot during each period of the first periodic pattern. Each period of the first periodic pattern may include multiple slots. The wireless device may receive control information during a first slot. The first slot may be a specified slot according to the first periodic pattern. The control information received during the first slot may schedule a data communication. The wireless device may monitor the control channel for control information in at least one slot that is not specified according to the first periodic pattern based at least in part on receiving control information during a specified slot according to the first periodic pattern.

Control information monitoring framework for cellular communication

A device may monitor a first search space (SS) corresponding to an active first component carrier (CC), and detect first control information (CI) that identifies an inactive second CC. In response to receiving the first CI, the device may activate the inactive second CC to make it an active second CC. The device may also set up a second SS corresponding to the active second CC, and may monitor the second SS to schedule the active second CC and receive a physical data channel. The first CI may also include additional scheduling information and a start time for reception of the physical data channel. The device may operate in a first bandwidth part (BWP) according to a first communication configuration associated with the first bandwidth part, and may switch to operating in a second BWP and to operating according to a second communication configuration associated with the second BWP.

A base station and mobile device (UE) may coordinate transmission of reference signals and reception of corresponding channel state information (CSI) reports. If a periodic reference signal is scheduled for transmission outside the on-duration period of the UE, even if the reference signal corresponds to a periodic CSI report scheduled to be transmitted by the UE during the on-duration period, the base station may not transmit the periodic reference signal, thereby allowing the UE not to prematurely exit a low-power state. The base station may instead transmit an aperiodic reference signal at a specified point in time later than the scheduled transmission of the periodic reference signal. The UE may receive the aperiodic reference signal and either transmit the periodic CSI report or an aperiodic CSI report in response, depending on how close to the start of the on-duration period the transmission of the periodic CSI report is scheduled.

Power saving for channel state information reference signal reception

This disclosure relates to performing cell measurements using configured reference signals while in an inactive state in a cellular communication system. A wireless device may receive an indication of reference signal resources configured for use by the wireless device in the inactive state from a cellular base station that provides a serving cell to the wireless device. The reference signal resources may include channel state information reference signal resources that are aligned in time and/or frequency with a control resource set provided for a wakeup occasion of the wireless device while in the inactive state. The wireless device may perform cell measurements using the indicated reference signal resources while in the inactive state.

This disclosure relates to techniques for opportunistically depowering receiver chains of a wireless device. Based on received control information, a device may determine a depowering time. For example, the device may determine a minimum number of symbols of the payload channel that will provide an effective spectral efficiency less than a supportable spectral efficiency of the payload channel. The depowering time may be determined as a time upon receipt of the determined minimum number of symbols. The device may determine whether to perform a depowering procedure, based upon the determined depowering time. In response to determining to perform the depowering procedure, the device may depower an RF receiver of the device at the depowering time, wherein the depowering time is prior to the end of the payload channel. The device may decode the payload channel based on a portion of the payload channel received by the RF receiver.

Power saving data reception

A device, system and method for determining when to initiate certain operations associated with received data. The method is performed at a device connected to a network. The method includes estimating a first number of repetitions of a subframe which is associated with a likelihood that the device will successfully perform an operation based on the subframe. The method further includes delaying initiating the operation for the subframe until a received number of repetitions of the subframe is greater than or equal to the first number of repetitions.
