A display apparatus is disclosed that includes a display panel including a pixel, a gate driver applying a gate signal, a data driver applying a data voltage, an emission driver applying an emission signal and a power voltage generator receiving a sensed power voltage and outputting a compensated power voltage. The pixel includes a driving transistor including a first control electrode receiving the data voltage, a second control electrode connected to a hold capacitor, a first electrode receiving a first power voltage and a second electrode connected to a first electrode of a light emitting element, the hold capacitor including a first electrode receiving the first power voltage and a second electrode connected to the second control electrode of the driving transistor and the light emitting element including a first electrode receiving the first power voltage and a second electrode receiving a second power voltage.

A method of operating a display device includes: receiving image data at an input frame frequency; generating a modulated clock signal by modulating an input clock signal according to a modulation frequency; randomly selecting an output frame frequency within a data frequency selection range, the input frame frequency being within the data frequency selection range; determining an output start timing of the image data based on the output frame frequency; initiating, at the output start timing, output of the image data in synchronization with the modulated clock signal; and displaying an image based on the outputted image data.

A method of driving a liquid crystal display panel is provided. The liquid crystal display panel includes: a liquid crystal display pixel including a liquid crystal structure including a pixel electrode, a liquid crystal layer, and a common electrode; a switching transistor connected between the pixel electrode of the liquid crystal structure and a data-line; and a storage capacitor connected to the pixel electrode of the liquid crystal structure. The method includes: calculating an accumulated driving time of the liquid crystal display panel by accumulating a driving time of the liquid crystal display panel; determining whether or not the accumulated driving time has reached a deterioration reference time; and when the accumulated driving time is determined to have reached the deterioration reference time, changing a gate-off voltage applied to a gate terminal of the switching transistor and a common voltage applied to the common electrode.

Method of driving a liquid crystal display panel and liquid crystal display device employing the same

A display apparatus includes a gate driving control circuit, a gate driver and a display panel. The gate driving control circuit generates N gate clock signals and N inversion gate clock signals based on N gate clock control signals, phases of which partially overlap with each other. Each inversion gate clock signals has an opposite phase to a respective gate clock signal. The gate driver generates gate signals based on the N gate clock signals or the N inversion gate clock signals and applies the gate signals to gate lines. The display panel includes pixels, each connected to a respective gate line and a respective data line. Each of the pixels has a longer side in parallel with gate lines and a shorter side in parallel with the data lines. A number of the gate clock control signals is an integer multiple of a number of colors of the pixels.

A liquid crystal display device includes an upper substrate, a lower substrate including a data line and a gate line insulated from the data line, a liquid crystal layer between the lower substrate and the upper substrate, a current sensing unit which detects a data current based on a data signal applied to the data line so as to detect a change in a liquid crystal capacitance of the liquid crystal layer, a rectifying amplifier which rectifies or amplifies the detected data current so as to generate and output a rectified signal, a pulse generator which generates a sensing pulse by comparing the rectified signal with a reference voltage, and a duty width detector which detects a duty width of the sensing pulse generated by the pulse generator where the reference voltage is set based on a voltage difference between data signals successively applied to the data line.
