There is provided a highly heat conductive piston ring for an internal combustion engine capable of exhibiting a gas seal function and a heat transfer function for a long period of time in a stable manner when used in an automobile gasoline engine having a high compression ratio. The highly heat conductive piston ring for an internal combustion engine is a piston ring for an internal combustion engine having an Mn&#x2014;Cr steel as a base material, the Mn&#x2014;Cr steel including C in the range of from 0.52 to 0.65 mass %, Si in the range of from 0.15 to 0.35 mass %, Mn in the range of from 0.60 to 1.00 mass %, Cr in the range of from 0.60 to 1.00 mass %, P in the range of 0.04 mass % or less, S in the range of 0.04 mass % or less, a slight amount of components (total content of Al, Ni, and Cu) in the range of from 0.05 to 3.0 mass %, and a remnant being Fe and unavoidable impurities.

Highly heat conductive piston ring for internal combustion engine

A piston ring includes: a refined steel including: carbon C in a range of 0.20% mass to 0.90% mass, silicon Si in a range of 0.10% mass to less than 0.60% mass, manganese Mn in a range of 0.20% mass to 1.50% mass, chromium Cr in a range of 0.30% mass to 2.00% mass, and a remnant including: iron Fe, and an unavoidable impurity. A parameter A calculated from the following expression (1) based on contents of the Si, Mn and Cr is 9.0 or less: parameter A=8.8 Si+1.6 Mn+1.7 Cr&#x2014;expression (1). Piston ring

A connecting rod of an internal combustion engine, comprising a connecting beam section serving as a main body of the connecting rod. Big and small ends are located at the opposite ends of the connecting beam section. A first joining section is located between the connecting beam section and the big end to connect the connecting beam section and the big end. A second joining section is located between the connecting beam section and the small end to connect the connecting beam section and the small end. In this connecting rod, each of the first and second joining sections gradually and continuously decreases in cross sectional area toward the connecting beam section and has a strength distribution in which a strength increases with a decrease in the cross sectional area.
