A cutting apparatus includes a housing formed with an insertion hole, a transfer unit configured to transfer an object inserted through the insertion hole, a reading unit configured to read an image of the object, a platen located opposite the reading unit, and a cutting unit. The reading unit includes a light-transmitting plate. The housing encloses the reading unit, the transfer unit, the platen and the cutting unit. The platen includes a part openable and closable so that a surface of the light-transmitting plate is externally exposed. The platen includes a first platen having a flat surface and a second platen which has a flat surface and is opposed to the surface of the light-transmitting plate and is openable and closable. The second platen is engaged with the first platen so that the flat surface of the second platen is flush with the flat surface of the first platen.

Cutting apparatus

A cutting plotter includes a conveying mechanism, a guide shaft, a cutting head, a cutter moving mechanism, and a slidable contact. The conveying mechanism is configured to convey a sheet-like object in a first direction and includes one roller shaft and a driving roller. The roller shaft includes two rollers located at different positions. The conveying mechanism is configured to convey the object held between the rollers and the driving roller. The cutting head is slidably supported by the guide shaft and configured to be mounted with a cutter. The slidable contact is located in the cutting head and contacts the roller shaft between the rollers of the roller shaft so as to be slidable, maintaining a position of the cutting head. The slidable contact has a U-shaped cross section, and the roller shaft is disposed at an open side of the U-shape.

A cutting plotter includes a processor and a memory. The memory stores computer-readable instructions that cause the processor to perform setting, counting, storing, and notifying when executed. The setting sets a plurality of partial areas by dividing a cuttable area of a holding member, the cuttable area is an area in which a cutting object is to be detachably adhered. The counting counts a number of cuts by a cutting blade within the cuttable area for each of the plurality of partial areas. The storing stores each of count values associated with each of the plurality of partial areas in a storage portion, each of the count values is counted by the counting for each of the plurality of partial areas. The notifying notifies, based on the count values stored in the storage portion, information relating to the number of cuts for each of the plurality of partial areas.

An auxiliary table for a sewing machine includes a table body formed into a flat plate shape and including one or more rectangular portions, the table body having corners, an upper surface at an upper side in a direction of gravitational force and an underside at a lower side in the direction of gravitational force, a cloth-receiving member disposed on at least one corner of the table body so as to be located lower than the upper surface of the table body and configured to support the workpiece cloth when it is placed on the upper surface side of the table body and hanging downward from the table body, the cloth-receiving member having a receiving portion having an outer edge surrounding outer edges of the corners, and a supporting member supporting the cloth-receiving member so protrusion of the cloth-receiving member from an outer edge of the table body is changeable.

An illumination device for a multineedle sewing machine includes an illuminating member which has a light source and located at a lateral side of a needle bar case and is disposed so as to open portions of needle bars and portions of needles, a light amount adjusting unit which adjusts an amount of light of the light source, and a control unit which controls the light amount adjusting unit with movement of the needle bar case by the needle bar case moving mechanism together with the illuminating member so that a predetermined illuminance is maintained at least in part of an illuminated area which is illuminated by the light source. The part of the illuminated area is located near the needle drop position.

A sewing machine includes a sewing machine bed, an auxiliary table detachably attachable to the bed, a guide member guiding the table between a first position where the table is held in parallel to an upper surface of bed and a second position where the table is detachably attached to the bed, and an engaging member mounted on the table so as to engaging the guide member. The guide member and the engaging member are engaged with each other, so that a tilt of the table to the upper surface of bed is limited within a predetermined angular range when the table is positioned between the first and second positions. The guide member has a bearing portion and a side plate having a groove guiding the engaging member from the first to second positions. The engaging member has a sliding contact portion brought into sliding contact with the bearing portion.

A cap frame includes an annular cap frame body detachably attachable to a feed mechanism of an embroidery sewing machine and holds a cap so that a predetermined part of the cap is embroidered. The cap frame further includes a pressing member which has a proximal end mounted on the cap frame body so that the pressing member is pivotally movable thereby to be switchable between a pressing position where the pressing member presses a vicinity of the predetermined part of the cap from outside and an open position where the pressing member allows the cap to be attached to or detached from the cap frame, and a guide member which guides the pressing member so that the pressing member is prevented from being caught on another member of the cap frame, when the pressing member is switched between the pressing position and the open position.

An illumination device for a multineedle sewing machine is disclosed. The sewing machine includes a plurality of needle bars having lower ends to which needles are attached respectively and a needle bar case supporting the needle bars so that the needle bars are movable upward and downward. The illumination device includes an illuminating member having a light source, and a support unit located in the needle bar case for supporting the illuminating member so that the illuminating member is switchable between an illuminating position where the illuminating member is located in front of the needle bars or the needles to illuminate a periphery of a needle point of the needle location point of the needle by the light source and a storage position where the illuminating member opens a front side of the needle bar or the needle and is located laterally with respect to the needle bar case.
