An object is to provide a glass for chemical toughening treatment satisfying low brittleness, low melt viscosity and high chemical toughening characteristics, and a chemically toughened glass using the same. Provided is a glass for chemical toughening treatment containing, in mass % in terms of oxides, SiO63 to 76, BO0 to 2, AlO2 to 10, MgO 2 to 12, CaO 0.1 to 8, NaO 14.5 to 19, KO 0 to 3, and FeO0 to 0.5, satisfying a total content of alkali earth metal oxides (RO) being from 5 to 15, satisfying 15&#xd7;MgO/RO&#x2212;RO&#x2265;3, and having a temperature Tat which a glass viscosity reaches 10dPa&#xb7;s being 1,600&#xb0; C. or lower.

Glass and chemically toughened glass using same

A phase-separated glass for chemical strengthening has a total light reflectance of 10% or more in a wavelength range of 380 nm to 780 nm and a value obtained by dividing a maximum value of the total light reflectance by a minimum value of the total light reflectance of 4.2 or less, when measured in a form of a plate having a thickness of 1 mm.

White glass

A white glass includes, in terms of mole percentage on the basis of oxides, from 50% to 74% of SiO, from 0 to 8% of BO, from 1% to 8% of AlO, from 0 to 18% of MgO, from 0 to 7% of CaO, from 0 to 10% of SrO, from 0 to 12% of BaO, from 0 to 5% of ZrO, from 5% to 15% of NaO and from 2% to 10% of PO. In the white glass, a total content of CaO, SrO and BaO is from 1% to 22%, a total content RO of MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO is from 5% to 25% and a ratio CaO/RO of a content of CaO to the RO is 0.7 or less.

An object of the present invention is to provide a glass for chemical strengthening which is capable of improving strength as compared with an ordinary soda lime silicate glass even when the same chemical strengthening treatment as that in a conventional process is applied and has good devitrification characteristics, a chemically strengthened glass using the glass for chemical strengthening, and a method for producing the chemically strengthened glass. The present invention provides a glass for chemical strengthening having a specific glass composition described in the present specification.

The present invention relates to a method for producing phase-separated glass, sequentially including a melting step of melting a glass, a phase separation step of separating phases in the glass, and a shaping step of shaping the glass, and to the phase-separated glass obtained by the production method.

A white glass contains, in terms of mole percentage on the basis of the following oxides, from 50 to 80% of SiO, from 0 to 10% of AlO, from 11 to 30% of MgO, from 0 to 15% of NaO and from 0.5 to 15% of PO.

A phase-separated glass for chemical strengthening has a total light reflectance of 10% or more in a wavelength range of 380 nm to 780 nm and a value obtained by dividing a maximum value of the total light reflectance by a minimum value of the total light reflectance of more than 4.2, when measured in a form of a plate having a thickness of 1 mm.

A white glass includes, in terms of mole percentage on the basis of oxides, from 50 to 73% of SiO, from 0 to 10% of BO, from 3 to 17% of NaO, from 0.5 to 10% of at least one of NbOand GdO, and from 0.5 to 10% of PO. In the white glass, a total content RO of MgO, CaO, SrO and BaO is from 2 to 25%.

A process for producing a chemically strengthened glass is provided. The method for producing a chemically strengthened glass includes subjecting a phase-separated glass to an ion exchange treatment. A chemically strengthened glass which is obtained by the process and a phase-separated glass which has been subjected to the ion exchange treatment are also provided.

The present invention relates to a method for producing a glass body containing: hydrolyzing a silicon compound and a compound containing a metal serving as a dopant, in a flame projected from a burner to form glass fine particles; and depositing and growing the formed glass fine particles on a base material, in which a raw material mixed gas containing a gas of the silicon compound, a gas of the compound containing a metal serving as a dopant, and either one of a combustible gas and a combustion supporting gas is fed into a central nozzle (A) positioning in the center of the burner; the other gas of the combustible gas and the combustion supporting gas is fed into a nozzle (B) different from the central nozzle (A) of the burner; a combustible gas or a combustion supporting gas is arbitrarily fed into a nozzle different from the nozzles (A) and (B); and a flow rate of the raw material mixed gas is 50% or more and not more than 90% of the largest flow rate among flow rate(s) of the combustible gas(ses) and the combustion supporting gas(ses) fed from other nozzle or nozzles than the central nozzle (A).

Method for producing glass body and method for producing optical member for EUV lithography

The present invention relates to a substrate for EUV lithography optical member, comprising a silica glass containing TiO, in which the substrate has two opposite surfaces, and the substrate has temperatures at which a coefficient of linear thermal expansion (CTE) is 0 ppb/&#xb0; C. (Cross-Over Temperature: COT), and in which the two opposite surfaces have difference in the COTs of 5&#xb0; C. or more.
