Problem to be Solved A catalyst for obtaining hydrogen gas by steam reforming of a hydrocarbon-containing gas in the presence of steam including active metals supported on an &#x3b1;-alumina carrier. The active metals include 0.1 to 0.3 parts by weight of rhodium (Rh) based on the content of the metal, relative to 100 parts by weight of the &#x3b1;-alumina carrier, and 0.01 to 0.3 parts by weight of platinum (Pt) based on the content of the metal, relative to 100 parts by weight of the &#x3b1;-alumina carrier. The &#x3b1;-alumina carrier is modified with a promoter including 1 to 10 parts by weight of cerium (Ce) based on the content of the metal, relative to 100 parts by weight of the &#x3b1;-alumina carrier.

Steam reforming catalyst for hydrocarbon-containing gas, apparatus for producing hydrogen, and method for producing hydrogen

Novel methods of electroless plating are described. Catalyst coatings can be applied within microchannel apparatus. Various reactions, including combustion and steam reforming, can be conducted over electroless catalyst coatings.

Electroless plating in microchannels

The invention describes catalysts, methods of making catalysts, methods of making a microchannel reactor, and methods of conducting chemical reactions. It has been discovered that superior performance can be obtained from a catalyst formed by directly depositing a catalytic material onto a (low surface area) thermally-grown alumina layer. Improved methods of conducting oxidative dehydrogenations are also described.
