A manufacturing method for a decorated object is provided. In this manufacturing method, a foil is attached to a medium to obtain the decorated object. The manufacturing method includes: a foil layer forming step of attaching the foil to an adhesive layer formed on the medium, so as to form a foil layer in a manner that the adhesive layer is partly exposed; and an ink layer forming step of applying an ink to the foil layer on which the adhesive layer is partly exposed, so as to form an ink layer in a manner that the ink contacts an exposed part of the adhesive layer.

Manufacturing method for decorated object

Provided is a manufacturing method for a printed matter including a medium and a three-dimensional pattern printed on a surface of the medium. The three-dimensional pattern has a partly-coated resin portion and further has layers including a colored layer and clear layers formed on the colored layer. The three-dimensional pattern is formed by stacking the layers formed of inks at least containing resin on one another. One of the clear layers formed on an outermost surface of the three-dimensional pattern is flattened for a longer duration than at least one of the other one of the clear layers and the colored layer that are formed below the clear layer on the outermost surface, so that the one of the clear layers on the outermost surface is further flattened than at least one of the other one of the clear layers and the colored layer.

A printing method is provided and includes: ejecting a photo-curable ink from a head onto a print medium by an ejection amount vrequired of matte-finish printing; irradiating a light after a standby time tis passed to cure the photo-curable ink in a manner that a matte finish is obtainable; ejecting a transparent-photo-curable ink from the head onto the print medium by an ejection amount vgreater than the ejection amount vand less than or equal to an ejection amount vrequired of glossy-finish printing; and irradiating the light after a standby time tshorter than a standby time tis passed to cure the transparent-photo-curable ink which is ejected.

A printer, including a head, a light irradiation device and a controller, is provided. The controller includes: a first controller that prompts the printer to carry out a printing operation by an ejection amount v1 required of glossy-finish printing and with a standby time t1 required of glossy-finish printing; a second controller that prompts the printer to carry out the printing operation by an ejection amount v2 required of matte-finish printing and with a standby time t2 required of matte-finish printing; and a third controller that prompts the printer to carry out the printing operation by an ejection amount v3 and with a standby time t3. The ejection amount v3 is greater than the ejection amount v2 and less than or equal to the ejection amount v1. The standby time t3 is shorter than the standby time t1.

An ink jet printer serving as a printing device repeats a selective discharge of a first ultraviolet curing type ink to a plurality of landing positions by an ink jet head and an irradiation of the first ultraviolet curing type ink with an ultraviolet ray by an ultraviolet ray irradiating device while reciprocating a carriage to form projection main bodies of the first ultraviolet curing type ink at the plurality of landing positions, and causes the ink jet head to selectively discharge a second ultraviolet curing type ink so as to land on the plurality of projection main bodies and the ultraviolet ray irradiating device to irradiate the second ultraviolet curing type ink with the ultraviolet ray to cure the second ultraviolet curing type ink to a gloss form.

Printing device and printing method

A printing device is provided and includes: a head unit and a controller. The head unit performs a main scan operation corresponding to each of a predetermined N-number of printing passes (N is an integer of three or greater) on a same area of a medium in a multi-pass mode, and the controller sets a density of printing to be performed in a k-number of last printing passes (k is an integer which is equal to or greater than 1 and is less than N), so as to be lower than a density of printing to be performed in the (N&#x2212;k)-th printing pass, and sets a density of printing to be performed by a plurality of individual nozzles of the nozzle row of the head unit for ejecting ink drops in the (N&#x2212;k+1)-th printing pass, so as to gradually decrease toward a head rear end side.
