A processor with protection of an isolated memory and protection method for the isolated memory accessible only by a trusted core are shown. A processor has a trusted core with a right to access an isolated memory planned on a system memory, a normal core prohibited from accessing the isolated memory, and a last-level cache shared by the trusted core and the normal core. The in-core cache structure of the normal core and the last-level cache are included in a hierarchical cache system. In response to a memory access request issued by the normal core, the hierarchical cache system determines whether the memory access request hits the isolated memory and, if yes, the hierarchical cache system rejects the memory access request.

A cache memory device is provided in the disclosure. The cache memory device includes a first AGC, a compression circuit, a second AGC, a virtual tag array, and a comparator circuit. The first AGC generates a virtual address based on a load instruction. The compression circuit obtains the higher part of the virtual address and generates a target hash value based on the higher part of the virtual address. The second AGC generates the lower part of the virtual address based on the load instruction. The virtual tag array obtains the lower part and selects a set of memory units. The comparator circuit compares the target hash value to a hash value stored in each memory unit of the set of memory units. When the comparator circuit generates the virtual tag miss signal, the comparator circuit transmits the virtual tag miss signal to the reservation station.

Cache memory device and data cache method

A system and method of performing speculative parallel execution of a cache line unaligned load instruction including speculatively predicting whether a load instruction is unaligned with a cache memory, marking the load instruction as unaligned and issuing the instruction to a scheduler, dispatching the unaligned load instruction in parallel to first and second load pipelines, determining corresponding addresses for both load pipelines to retrieve data from first and second cache lines incorporating the target load data, and merging the data retrieved from both load pipelines. Prediction may be based on matching an instruction pointer of a previous iteration of the load instruction that was qualified as actually unaligned. Prediction may be further based on using a last address and a skip stride to predict a data stride between consecutive iterations of the load instruction. The addresses for both loads are selected to incorporate the target load data.

System and method of speculative parallel execution of cache line unaligned load instructions

The present invention is directed to the discovery of a novel family of enzymes designated herein as mRNA interferases that exhibit endoribonuclease activity. The novel finding of the present inventors, therefore, presents new applications for which mRNA interferase nucleic and amino acid sequences, and compositions thereof may be used to advantage. The invention also encompasses screening methods to identify compounds/agents capable of modulating mRNA interferase activity and methods for using such compounds/agents. Also provided is a kit comprising mRNA interferase nucleic and/or amino acid sequences, mRNA interferase activity compatible buffers, and instruction materials.

RNA interferases and methods of use thereof

The present invention describes a single-protein production (SPP) system in livingcells that exploits the unique properties of an mRNA interferase, for example, MazF, a bacterial toxin that is a single stranded RNA- and ACA-specific endoribonuclease, which efficiently and selectively degrades all cellular mRNAs in vivo, resulting in a precipitous drop in total protein synthesis. Concomitant expression of MazF and a target gene engineered to encode an ACA-less mRNA results in sustained and high-level (up to 90%) target expression in the virtual absence of background cellular protein synthesis. Remarkably, target synthesis continues for at least 4 days, indicating that cells retain transcriptional and translational competence despite their growth arrest. SPP technology works well for yeast and human proteins, even a bacterial integral membrane protein. This novel system enables unparalleled signal to noise ratios that should dramatically simplify structural and functional studies of previously intractable but biologically important proteins. The present invention also provides an optimized condensed single protein production system.
