A monoazo dye for polyester fiber represented by formula ##STR1## and having a crystal modification characterized by an X-ray diffraction spectrum (CuK.alpha.) showing a very strong peak at an angle of diffraction (2.theta.) of about 14.2.degree., a strong peak at about 24.5.degree., and four weak peaks at about 16.9.degree., 23.6.degree., 25.3.degree., and 26.8.degree.. The monoazo dye exhibits excellent dispersibility to effect level dyeing even under high temperature and severe conditions and provides a dyed material excellent in light fastness and rubbing fastness, as well as wet fastness after post-finish.

A perinone compound represented by the formula ##STR1## wherein R represents arylene; R and R', which may be the same or different, each represents alkoxyalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, N,N-dialkylaminoalkyl, cycloalkyl or aralkyl; and X represents oxygen or sulfur. The perinone compound fluoresces a yellowish green to orange color and is useful as a fluorescent dye or dyestuff.

This invention relates to thiazoleazophenylaminoethyl carbonyloxy-C.sub.8 -C.sub.10 -alkyl compounds useful as dyes for polyester fibers represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein X represents hydrogen, chlorine, methyl, methoxy or ethoxy; Y represents methyl, acetylamino or propionylamino; and R.sup.1 represents C.sub.8 -C.sub.10 alkyl.

Monoazo dyes for dyeing polyester fibers represented by the formula: ##STR1## wherein D represents a substituted or unsubstituted thiazolyl, benzothiazolyl, thiadiazolyl or pyridyl group, X represents a hydrogen atom, a chlorine atom, a methyl group, a methoxy group or an acylamino group, Y represents a hydrogen atom, a chlorine atom, a methyl group, an alkoxy group or an alkoxyalkyl group, R.sup.1 represents a hydrogen atom, a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group, and R.sup.2 represents a phenoxymethyl group, a phenoxyethyl group, a benzyl group or a tetrahydrofurfuryl group. Fibers which can be dyed with the azo dyes of the present invention include polyester fibers such as polyethylene terephthalate, a polycondensate between terephthalic acid and 1,4-bis (hydroxymethyl) cyclohexane or the like and blended or mixed fibers of the above-described polyester fibers with natural fibers such as cotton, silk or wool. The present dyes can also be used in combination with other dyes of the same series. In some cases, blending two or more dyes represented by the general formula (I) provides good results as well as an improvement of the dyeing properties.

A monoazo dyestuff mixture which comprises 90-30% by weight of a monoazo dyestuff of the general formula [II]: ##STR1## wherein R.sup.2 is C.sub.3-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-4 alkoxyalkyl, phenoxyalkyl or aralkyl and 10-70% by weight of a monoazo dyestuff of the formula [III]: ##STR2##
