A working fluid injection apparatus has an upper chamber that stores a working fluid and a lower chamber that removably receives a bearing unit having a housing and a shaft that is inserted in the housing to form between the shaft and the housing a gap into which the working fluid is to be injected. A partition divides the upper chamber and the lower chamber into top and bottom parts, respectively. A first exhaust system brings the inside of the upper chamber to a decompressed state. A second exhaust system brings the inside of the lower chamber to a decompressed state. A valve unit opens and closes an internal cavity of the lower chamber relative to an external environment. A tapered hole is formed in the partition and communicates the upper and lower chambers to one another. A tapered shaft is inserted into the tapered hole from the upper chamber. A shaft drive unit moves the tapered shaft in the axial direction in the tapered hole.

Working fluid injection apparatus, method of injecting working fluid, and method of manufacturing fluid dynamic pressure bearing

A working fluid injection apparatus for injecting a working fluid into a gap between a housing and a shaft of a bearing unit of a fluid dynamic pressure bearing. The apparatus has an adapter configured to support the bearing unit in a state in which an end portion of the shaft protrudes from an open portion of the housing. A cover member has an upper opening, a lower opening, and a tapered inner surface with a radial dimension that increases gradually from the lower opening to the upper opening. The cover member is configured to be mounted in contact with an upper surface of the housing when the bearing unit is supported by the adapter so that the lower opening of the cover member surrounds the open portion of the housing and so that the protruding end portion of the shaft and the tapered inner surface of the cover member form a reservoir portion that communicates with the open portion of the housing and that is configured to store a working fluid.

Working fluid injection apparatus for a fluid dynamic pressure bearing

A lead frame has a pair of side frames each having a plurality of positioning holes and spaced apart from each other in a width direction of the lead frame. At least one section bar extends between the pair of side frames. First lead sections extend from the section bar and are arranged at predetermined intervals along the width direction of the lead frame. Second lead sections extend from the section bar along the width direction of the lead frame and are disposed in confronting and spaced-apart relation to the respective first lead sections in a longitudinal direction of the lead frame to define a frame area extending between the pair of side frames. Each of the second lead sections has a pair of separate and independent protruding portions disposed adjacent one another.
